kpnuts Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Hi all well I know I've got lots on the go but Just had to add another, since the La Reale is on hold.
kpnuts Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Hi all well not a great experiment but at least I now know, now I just have to see if oven cleaner will take the gold leaf off and the acryllic size. I've also learned you cant mask with just masking fluid.
kpnuts Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Hi all well I'm learning lots with this build, oven cleaner takes the gold off ok but not the size, the size is still sticky so you could probably guild it again, if you try and sand it you get lots of little sticky particles all over the part that you cant get off white spirt wont touch it, but, eureka methylated spirits gets it off.
atomicholiday Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Looking good so far. I think I have that kit around here somewhere.
Harry P. Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Looks like you have a pretty wild color scheme going on there!
kpnuts Posted May 6, 2015 Author Posted May 6, 2015 Hi all I was hoping to finish this before my hols as a rat bike but I just dont think I will quite manage it.
Stray Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH I must have glazed over seeing this one in the New Content lists. Looking good man. Is this a smaller scale? There doesn't seem to be the same level of detail as your other bike build. You have some great skills making it look like a used and abused scooter though dude!
kpnuts Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) Hi all here is tonights progress on this one (sorry just realised I didn't answer your question, it's 1/12) Edited May 29, 2015 by kpnuts
kpnuts Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 blimey I take that as a great compliment, thank you so much.
kpnuts Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Hi all well I'm calling this finished. I wanted it to look like it had been left out in a rain shower and the rain had dried on, so as an experiment I diluted matt varnish about 50% the used a tooth brush to flick rain drops on it, I quite like it and think it worked quite well. and added to my growing collection
