aurfalien Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Hi all,I'd love to avoid a warped/meltdown scenario.Whats the safety limit in terms of soak time for styrene parts in Simple Green?
JTalmage Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Not sure if there's much difference but I've let parts and bodies soak in purple power for over 2 weeks with no issues.
aurfalien Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Ok cool, thanks JT.I'm paranoid after my first mishap on the 908. I know its a diff beast and all but still. I check the parts daily.
fseva Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I had been using Simple Green for paint stripping, but sometimes it just didn't seem to have any effect at all, even after an overnight soak. I just tried Super Clean, and in a matter of minutes, I could see paint color floating around in the mix!
aurfalien Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Cool, thanks fseva.Does an alchohal soak damage styrene?
Speedfreak Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 No, not if it's rubbing alcohol. If the paint you're trying to take off is lacquer alcohol might be your best option. My last paint removal required separate soaks in both Super Clean, and , 91% rubbing alcohol.
