Superpeterbilt
Do any of you guys have any info on the Volvo era Autocars? How much of the truck was Volvo, how much was Autocar, was it ALL Volvo?Any info on chassis, running gear, motors, would be greatly appreciated. plastic trucker
Do you have a picture of the truck your writing about? If I remember right, it is all American except for the Volvo name added.
Superpeterbilt
This is the truck Im interested in. Its a 91 Autocar ACL with a 60 series Detroit, Allison trans, planetaries , and Rockwl rears. The only thing Im unsure of is the rear susp, and how many frames it has.
plastic trucker
Something as heavy duty looking as that might be doubled framed, but I might be wrong.

landman
What are you going to use to build that. AITM's DC or DK? That is a seriously tough looking truck.
Superpeterbilt
I bought this conversion https://www.facebook.com/TLModelTruck?ref=bookmarks just to build this truck. I really didnt like this era of Autocar until I saw this one. Edited July 2, 2016 by Superpeterbilt

dad vader
Last years of the White/Volvo days, I believe the last year was 1992, I worked on some of them, they were mostly a White/Volvo with an Autocar designed hood, (Headlights were a bit different), But mostly all White/Volvo. After this came White/Volvo/GMC. Edited July 3, 2016 by dad vader mispelling

Tesla
You're fortunate to have found this brochure! This truck is definitely 100% Autocar.
Superpeterbilt
You're fortunate to have found this brochure! This truck is definitely 100% Autocar. From what I read on AHTS they ordered it 1987, and took delivery of it in 1990 and had no idea that it would have the Volvo/White sheet metal. I think they were wanting the classic Autocar sheetmetal. Its still a nice truck(I cant nelieve Im saying that, Ive always thought these were ugly), but I think I would have been a littele dissapointed if I was expecting an Autocar.
