Vietnam Vet67
Picked up an old Mark Martin Ford Taurus die cast car recently and it has what looks like water spots on the windows. I tried Windex, Dawn detergent, and a few other household cleaners but they won't come out. Anyone have any ideas on what I could try? clean the
Snake45
First, are you absolutely sure they're on the outside? If so and Windex didn't work, my next move would be rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't work, it might need to be polished out. I've learned that some diecast clear plastic is weird.
High octane
Have you tried Rain X?
Snake45
Have you tried Rain X?Never heard of using that on a model. I faithfully Rain-x my car windows every fall, as it makes ice/frost SO SO SO much easier to scrape off. But I had HORRIBLE results one year when I put the stuff on the inside of my windows. It didn't work well at all and the stuff was impossible to remove. Not sure what if any advantage there would be to using it on model windows. Has anyone done this? OneTrickPony
If the spots disappear when wet, maybe a light coat of Future would hide them.
