I have tried using the backside of a new Exacto blade, but with poor results.  I have seen the 'hooked-shape' blades, I think they are P.E.  Opening the trunk or doors, the engraved lines are already there.  Thanks

I use several tools. The hook you mention, the X-Acto tip or backside as well, and an assortment of PE and conventional razor saws. It depends on the shape and location of the line.

Here are over 11 years worth of posts on the same subject. Presumably, you can find something that appeals to you.

I have been using Tamiya photo etch fine craft saws with fantastic results, much cleaner cuts than an X-Acto blade & you can bend the saws to give you nice clean cuts on rounded corners.
