carsntrucks4you Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 (edited) Because the last Autoquiz was mor a One-off quiz I'll try something similar to the trucks. Can you Identify this truck? The rules for the Truckquiz are No answers allow in the ongoing Truck quiz thread No comments in the ongoing Truck quiz thread that give any clues or suggestion to the car in question A PM must be sent to the one who has started the ongoing thread The PM must contain Manufacturer and Type In case of violating the rules the quiz will closed immediately and no winners will be announced So please stick with the rules and don't ignore them. carsntrucks4you Posted July 1, 2022 Author Posted July 1, 2022 (edited) I think that will be the toughest quiz. Until today only one correct answer. I'll give you a hint. This truck was build by a German company and the truck was also know as Desert Lion. The Desert lion concept was taken over by a belgium truck company. They sold under their name. This company is still in business is know for their special heavy duty trailer, military trucks and oilfield trucks. Edited July 1, 2022 by carsntrucks4you
carsntrucks4you Posted July 4, 2022 Author Posted July 4, 2022 This truck was build by KFM (Kaiserslautern Fahrzeug und Maschinenbau AG). The Desert Loin concept as planned a s a oilfield rig or fire truck. As far as I know 2 were build by KFM TB 600 and show ad the IAA 1982. The company went bankrupt. The concept was bought by BREC - Belgian Railroad Equipment where the Belgium truck manufactures Mol was a shareholder. MOL build another 2 truck the MOL TB 800. both where sold to Algeria where als one of the original KFM trucks where used as oilfield trucks. The correct answer where sent in by Bucky ChrisR gbtr6 Fabrux Richard Bartrop Brizio Congratulations
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 (edited) I snoozed, I lose. I actually knew that one from a model railroad search several years back that took me to Michael's very own Fotki page about that exact vehicle. https://public.fotki.com/carsntrucks4you/reference-pictures-1/reference_pictures-3/kfm_tb_600_heavy/kfm600_4.html#media I recognized it immediately, had the pix and links saved, but was way too slow on the trigger posting here. Oh well. EDIT: HO scale version... Edited July 6, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy
