1950 Ford F-1. My Cannonball Run build. *UPDATE 1-28-12* Sidepipes on a pickup? HECK YEAH!

Recommended Posts

This is my F-1 Cannonball build. Wasn't the farm truck look I was wanting but it looks nice in this shade of blue. Had to sand and paint a few times because of paint that gathered and looked black. I just clear coated but haven't posted pictures. I painted the bed first. I know it's not the greatest but I don't do BMF so....

I can't decide steelies or chrome wheels?

Here's the kit.

I knew a guy that built a similar model - didn't use BMF either - he just used some 1/8 inch silver pinstriping tape between the boards - it looked pretty good. Just a suggestion...

Love the color - that's great

It's....it's......BEAUTIFUL!!!! I worked some more on it while I stayed home with some sickness.

List of completions today.

*Chrome on hood

*Clear coated hood, cab, and body

*Started on the engine (Not complete)

*Put whitewalls on the tires

*Painted firewall and back of wheels

I took this picture of it in the sun. Nice pretty paint...

Looks great,! If your'e painting the bed strips you could try lightly running a #11 blade to out line the molding. I've used this to help keep the paint from bleeding out onto the wood. This is a nice model, but I straggled with the grill/lower front fenders. There is very little to support the two parts where they are joined. .

I got some done today.

I got the engine finished.

Here's the interior. The nut is only there to hold the steering wheel up.

Here's the dash. It's not in the interior because I need to get the nut out.

Here are the wheels. Body color.
