Mr Stock Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Ok guys first sorry if this is the wrong forum to put this in, I was given this sprue which looks like a complete engine, can you help identify it and what kit it came from?, Im guessing its mopar maybe 6 pack ? so that would be the AMT Super Bee kit maybe ? Thankyou in advance.
Guest Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) That is the 440 from AMT's 68, 69, and 70 Plymouth and Dodge kits. Looks as tho it is missing the alternator, fan, distributor, coil and transmission. Edited February 24, 2014 by midnightprowler
kylexgore Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Lee is right. It is the 440 from AMT's mopar kits. This engine also shares a few parts with the hemi that came in these kits, which is why a few of the parts may be missing. Edited February 24, 2014 by kylexgore
Mr Stock Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Thanks Lee amd Kyle I thought it might have been from that kit just not 100% sure, this is all I got so I guess I need to find the missing parts somewhere.
kylexgore Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Hey Gary, You could make a post in the wanted section looking for the rest of the parts to finish that 440. Just a suggestion.
disabled modeler Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Id say it was from the AMT 68,69 GTX or Road Runner kit.
slantasaurus Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 That is the 440 six pack from the 70 Super Bee kit. It has never been in the 68 Road Runner or 69 GTX kit although it does share the transmission, fan, and alternator from those kits. The 68 RR and 69 GTX never had P/S which the Super Bee did have.
Force Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) Ehh...the AMT 69 GTX Hard Top kits has the 440 6BBL engine...at least the 5 or 6 kits I've bought as donor kits does and it's the engine meant to use when building the kit according to the instructions, a complete 426 Hemi is also included together with some speed parts but it's not mentioned in the instructions, so it's a bonus. But the 68 Road Runner, the 69 GTX Convertible and the Pro Street kits of the Road Runner and GTX only has the Hemi option. So the 440 are from the 69 Plymouth GTX Hard Top or the 70 Dodge Coronet R/T Edited February 25, 2014 by Force
