Love the red truck. Why truck kit manufacturers like AMT or Revell don't make those wheels as shown on the red Pete? Or do they? I've never seen them. I got a set of the two hole wheels but in Resin. But I'm not a fan of resin parts.

Thanks Tim - it's good to have some good reference.

I was thinking oxblood for the interior on my project. Is the gold the sandard interior paint color with oxblood trim or did Pete use the exterior color?

Have to agree about wanting some steel wheels but will probably use the wheels - strip and refinish them to get an unpolished look.

No 'standard' on a Peterbilt back then. The customer/dealer had to select the color. Painted surface optional colors, gold, brown, black, green, red, blue. Steering wheel always off-white/beige. Floor could be black rubber or matching color carpet. Seat bases could be matte black or painted to match metal surfaces.

The 5 hole steel wheels are only available in resin.

I noticed a tachograph in the B&W photo, guess it would be easy enough to scratchbuild one,but are there any resin ones available?or in any kits? don't recall ever seeing one, no vintage fleet truck's dash should be without one!...................Mark

Check out the Ertl IH Paystar/Transtar Conventional kits- they have something that looks like a good match, though you'd need to cut it out of the IH dash.
