Mackvision Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I have restored a few vintage Hubley model A's and just wodered if anyone else here has any interest in them? these were some of the first kits I build as a boy,and enjoyed them even back then!......................Mark
cobraman Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I built a couple back in the day but they never looked that darn good.
AzTom Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Good looking models. I have built at least one of every diecast Hubley except the Indy car. I have one of of those started. Then I got into customizing them and that was even more fun. I thought some of them were on here but just did a search and nothing came up. When Fotki clears up I'll post some.
JTalmage Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 There were a few on ebay... I thought about it... but didnt want to go down that road. I dont do die cast... didnt wanna start that addiction.
AzTom Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Here is one I build in the 80's as a store display for the JLE reissue Hubley's.
f1ford48 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 me too-Built all of them as a teenager- I still have some left-people complain about the filing of the castings, but its not that bad. I hand painted the moldings on the roadster when I was 13....
Phirewriter Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Those all look neat, brings back memories. My dad loved Hubley kits, and had all thier metal kits and multiple of the Model A's. He had a couple of 1-1 A's in the early 60's thru the 70's. I have all of his kits in addition to mine but have yet to build any. I loved the box art on the original issues of the A kits too.
