question about truck and van grilles

Hello i have question about grilles from chevy van and trucks in 70-80.

Are the grilles made from steelsheet or aluminium.

I think its steel but when i look at different pictures it looks like aluminium?

The '73 Chevy pickup I had had a plastic grill.

'71-'77 Chevy and GMC full size G-van grilles were stamped steel, and from '78 and later were plastic.

so if i understand right 71-77 chevy van grills are made from steel and the headlight bezels are aluminium

and the pickups have aluminium frame grills with plastic inserts

I owned a 74 Chevy pickup once it had a die-cast or pot metal grille very heavy too, we also owned a 73 Chevy van cheap one with a stamped steel grille that was painted.
