  1. This MGB 1:18 was rather easy. Not much is changed, mostly decals. The model itself was old and dirty.
  2. It is quite hard to find a model of the MKI MGB so I was lucky to find two. With more then half a year between buying them. Adding red piping to the seats Swapping from RHD to LHD
  3. I am a MGB driver so I love to make replica's of these. Here is a GT I made for my team mate. Togheter with his navigater I also give courses for beginning equipes in the historic rally sport.
  4. This one went to Curacao were the original car was sold in 1962. In Europe one hardly will ever run into a MGA in this colour. But after some digging I found out it is an original colour. Also the combination with the red upholstery is as it used to be sold. The base model was a true barn find. Wheels and mirrors were broken off and pieces were missing. Only small changes were made: Changing from RHD to LHD
  5. During the summer of 2011 made a replica of a MGA TwinCam for a very close friend and team mate. I used the same base model, a MKII. The TwinCam is an earlier car so I had to change the rear lights. Also the front valance was changed on the actual car as it doesn't have any bumpers. This is the original car: The interior in the right colors: Brackets for the spot lights: Here is the finished miniature replica of the MGA Twin Cam.
  6. The first model I did. A MGA from 1959. About three years ago I was on my way to the start of a rally in France. Near Brussels the engine made some horrible noises. I took of the cylinder head hoping the gasket was gone. Once I had the head off I could see two pistons were severly damaged. No way I could fix the car at that moment. Some friends came to the rescue. The brought their car on a trailer and took mine back home. I still could start the rally. Making a model for them was the least I could do. Here the replica miniature rally car is finished. This is the car at the finish

    Diecast?

Great idea Tom, that door catch unit.
  8. The only one I know off is 1:43 http://www.carmodel.net/zoomPage.php?NTI2ODM8Oj4wPDo+YWRkVG9DYXJ0KCdRazFYUERzK1RWSkRMUzFoYkd3dE1DMHpNQzB4TFRBPScsJycsICcnLCAnJywnJywgJ2FkZC0xLTUyNjgzJywgJzAnKQ==
  9. This is the 3rd model I modified. During historic rallies I start often behind this car. During some rallies the starting order is on some days on make. And MG follows Mercedes...
  10. This car was specially made for a wedding. I bet nobody els had a present like this. I had to use two cars for this model. The original car.
  11. Well I don't have any kids but a '66 MGB and a '71 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super... And a '79 Volvo 245 just to carry spare parts like engines.
  12. Last October I made these two The original The models Wider wheels Sunroof New interior
  13. Here is one I did a couple of month later: Wheels a friend of mine draw in a CAT programm and I had them 3D printed.
  14. I did a couple of Volvo Amazons as well. They are base on a Revell Polis model. Last year I navigated in the dark green one during the International Historic Tulip Rally. A 6 day event from France back to the Netherlands. Normally I am a driver but a friend of mine asked me to replace his ill navigater. The rally was all paid for so that was really convenient. As a present I made a miniature replica of his car (actually the second model I made). Our result in the rally wasn't too good, we were last. But we made it to the finish. At least once a day the Amazon broke down. Even before the start I had to rebuild the SU carbs. During the week I replaced the complete pertol lines. The distributer was in a bad shape. With bits and pieces I kept it going. Anyway, here are some photo's: The base model: The original Amazon: And the model itselve:
  15. Thanks guys. Here are some other Big Healeys.
  16. This is the original car And here the finished model
  17. The interior of the base model was changed as well as this car is used for classic races and rallies. Also added a roll cage
  18. Hi all, I am new to this forum. Most builds I see are kits and resin. I mostly use diecast models to modify but I think I can learn a lot of what you guys are doing. To kick off I'll share some pics of a couple of Austin Healeys I modified. Just to make them look as close as possible to the original car. Here is the base model which came out quite recently. The Le Mans style boot is not on the acutual car so that had to go.
