  1. totally forgot about that!!!! they even had an add on called Dueltrack(i believe) that used only combustion engines...thanks for reminding me of this
  2. curious how the briansmod method would look using black electrical tape? or is it possible to paint the surgical tape?
  3. I'm doing a spider man model that has a lot of gaps where the 2 arm pieces go together to form his left arm and so on. now i used regular squadrons white putty to fill the smooth, non webbed part of the model, but now i need to fill the webbed, raised, detail area. My question is this: The putty seems to fill the web pattern once i sand it off and I wondered if it would be better to use a sparing amount of crazy type glue to fill in the minimal gaps on the web area? Im thinking that or I'll have to go over the whole figure and "scribe" out all the putty residue from all the webbed sections. It's a 1/8 scale model so it's not a big deal to do the scribing. Just my 1st figure model and Im doing it for my friends son and I want it to look awesome. Thanks, sorry for the long winded post...any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  4. the Michael's near me closes at 9 ....thinking that 50% coupon kinda hard to pass up.....Need a new kit !!!!!
  5. i just go on hobby lobby's website and there is always a 40% coupon, plus the one i go to must not sell a lot of models and theyre almost always 1 to 3 kits that are marked down...
  6. Hey all !!!! Just saw on Michaels website there is a 50% off coupon. Wish I saw it earlier as it expires today....Used my weekly hobby lobby 40%off coupon to buy a cutting mat and they had the spider man kit I've been eyeing for $14.99 instead of the usual $24.99.... I'm inside and cooling off, otherwise I'd go out to take advantage of that 50% off coupon
  7. to be more authentic, put a big bag of money in Gene's fist !!!!!!
  8. hopefully this pic gives u an idea of the type of car in the game......kinda like dr.cranky's zombie cars, just no rust
  9. they seem pretty pricey but look well made and detailed
  10. wanted to ask.... how are those gibson engine kits? worth the $$$$ ??
  11. looking good so far...I'll be "WATCHing" for updates
  12. Wonder if anyone played or remembers this game http://www.sjgames.com/car-wars/ would be kinda fun to build cars along these lines, outfitted with guns and cannons......very similar to Dr.Cranky's zombie idea Just tossing that out there
  13. I too have this kit and was instantly overwhelmed the minute I opened the box ! Lots of pieces and never worked with that mesh stuff before. Have to say I like what you have done with it so far. I wonder what the expert builders would do to customize this kit?????
  14. I got this same 57 nomad kit at hobby lobby for $6.11 just because it was opened. Everything was still intact, so i had to buy it. I think it will be my next build(currently doing 2009 challenger stock). Planning on doing new(4 me) techniques, such as flocked interior and would like to do foil on the exterior..... Thinking of including a little stereo system in the cargo area too.... Any tips or tricks PM so I dont "officially" hijack this awesome thread.
  15. Anyone in the Chicago area remember this Chevy dealership? My dad worked there from before I was born(1974) until maybe 1985-6. It was originally located on Peterson Ave. then more down the street to Western Ave. I remember the Peterson ave. had a great diagnostic/dyno section and I think the name of it was Electraac or something. It had a cool logo with lightning bolts if I remember rite.
  16. pretty sure he's innocent and the one armed man framed him !
  17. ok....where do u guys usually find the stuff for flocking, metal foil, and engine wires? All online or does your local hobby store have all this stuff?
  18. New here, so let me know if something similar to this has been covered already. Just curious what different steps or "procedures" u guys do when starting a new build. At this point I still just build a kit right out of the box and don't vary it much. I consider it a "custom" if I use different paint than whats on the box Would really like to get into a more custom type model, but just want to build up my confidence. Thanks !!!
  19. Looks like algebra finally comes in handy.... Solve for X........
