  1. As long as we're playing long shots, here's reaching for the moon: The IMC Chaparral 2E and Lola T-70 The IMC Lotus 38 Ford Indy car The long lost (or never was) AMT 1911 Chevrolet Touring car. Maybe Round 2 could find the old tool and use it to craft a new steel tool. Would that then be a reissue or a new tool? I don't think I'll hold my breath waiting for any of these to pop up.
  2. Thanks Ace, for the answer to my question. Will check my "T" kits. Okay, that being said, what is the most accurate 289 kit engine? And a big "thank you" for all the replies so far. Great information. A big help.
  3. I recall some years back there were kit reviews of a certain model where they criticized the small block Ford engine (289) for being undersized for accurate scale. I can't however remember what kit that was. I'm working on a tight fit engine bay and a slightly smaller small block would be a boon. Does anyone remember what kit this was or know which kit has the smallest 289/302 Ford?
  4. I'm searching for a nice resin cast Carter single barrel carb or equal. Something kit based would be acceptable if really nicely detailed, but they all seem to be blobs that i've seen. Any tips appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Does a fish realize that he lives in water? Maybe only when he useta live in water?
  6. I've always had a soft spot for the look of the 392 in the Hemi-Hydro.
  7. Had a little discussion with some friends about how to best protect homemade inkjet decals. Some say the spray in the decal kit is safest because it's compatible with the decal paper and other say to clear with the paint your going to clear the car with since it's more compatible with the final clearcoat. I'm confused and could use the boards advice. TIA.
  8. Has anyone ever tried to flare out or stretch a set of rear fenders on a 1960's vintage car? Will hot water make the plastic soft and pliable enough? Or is there a better way? I'd like to push out the fenders on a Trans-Am racer I'm working on and could use a little advice. Thanks.
  9. "ps, isn't the mustang version a Cammer powerplant ?" Yes, it is, just one more reason I wondered if the chassis were different. Also, while we're on the subject, does anyone know if the rumored Tommy Grove Mustang will ever be released?
  10. An interesting question came up at yesterday's club meeting and no one had the answer. Polar Lights did 3 basic funny car kits, a Cuda, a Charger and a Mustang. Are the chassis in each of them the same or are they different to suit the indiviual bodies, such as wheelbase, engine or seat location, etc? Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.
  11. I've had several calls from people asking how to find the Pocono Drag Lodge. Here's how: From the North or South on I-81: Take I-81 to exit 170A. Take PA 115 South to Cosenza’s Restaurant @ Meadow Run Rd. Take a left on Meadow Run Rd, Drag Lodge Rd. is on the left ½ mile. From the South on I-476 (PA Turnpike NE Ext.): Take I-476 North to exit 105. Take PA 115 South to Cosenza’s Restaurant @ Meadow Run Rd. Take a left on Meadow Run Rd, Drag Lodge Rd. is on the left ½ mile. From the East on I-80: Take I-80 to exit 284. Take PA 115 North to Meadow Run Rd. Take a right at Cosenza’s Restaurant @ Meadow Run Rd, Drag Lodge Rd. is on the left ½ mile. From the West on I-80: Take I-80 to I-81 North to exit 170A. Take PA 115 South to Cosenza’s Restaurant @ Meadow Run Rd. Take a left on Meadow Run Rd, Drag Lodge Rd. is on the left ½ mile. The landmark at Cosenza’s Restaurant is the only traffic light for miles around, you can’t miss it. My brother suggests, "Turn left at Drag Lodge Rd. and go back about 50 years!" Hope to see you there.
  12. The trophies are in for the Pocono Drag Lodge contest. They're really nice. Hope to see everyone there.
  13. We're going to have a model contest at the Pocono Drag Lodge Reunion, August 11,2012. Three classes, Senior, Junior (age 15 & under) and Theme. The Theme is "Cars that Raced at the Pocono Drag Lodge". Build a model of the car you or a friend or family member raced at the Drag Lodge or of one of the many pro racers that ran match races or exhibitions at the Drag Lodge. Three trophies in each class, no limit on model entries, no entry fee with spectator admission, popular vote, no sweeps. http://drag.racersreunion.com/events/2012-pocono-drag-lodge-reunion-and-car-show Contacts: Charlie Hulsizer, 845-633-3662 or Tom Gunshannon, 570-288-8888
  14. It seems I've misplaced a few parts to one of my engines. Can anyone tell me if I can order replacement parts from him? Thanks, Tom
  15. Hi all, I'm trying to get a stalled project restarted. I'm searching for some resin detail items and some decals. I hope someone can help me find the following: Resin cast representations of studs and nuts. Need hex nuts of around .03" inch, 3/4 inch in scale with a bit of stud sticking out the top. Washers under the nuts optional but not necessary. Resin cast Carter single barrel carbs or a decent looking approximation. All the kit carbs I can find are just lifeless blobs. A set of decals to do a Hudson Hornet stock car in 1/25 scale. You know the car, says "Fabulous Hudson Hornet 6" on the side. Marshall Teague or Herb Thomas drove them, among others. Finally, does anyone know if LMG Enterprises of Sheboygan, WI is still active? I know this is a lot to ask, but that's how this project got shelved in the first place. I'd sure like to get it back on the bench.
  16. Just want to add my thanks for all the advice. The BIN did the job for sealing the red plastic just fine. Used it over Varsity white primer, which was the usual joy of white on white, but what the heck. No one said modeling was easy. Had the same clogging problems with the Krylon nozzles, but they clean out easy with a little lacquer thinner and compressed air. But the project is moving along okay and you guys are the greatest. Thanks Steve and Bill and Bob, et al. Couldn't get by without you all!
  17. How long should I wait to mask for stripes after I put my paint in the dehydrator? Paint is Krylon lacquer. I don't want to pull up my paint or damage the finish with the masking tape. What about the tape? What's the safest masking agent to protect the base color? Thanks everyone!
  18. What is the best rattle can sealer to seal off red plastic when overcoating with lacquer paint? Want to paint it white. So far all I have is pink. TIA
  19. I have a hard plastic slot car body and I'd like to remove the tampo graphics (numbers, stripes, etc.) without damaging the plastic finish. Does anyone know what the best method may be? Thanks.
