  1. I've got one in progress from a few years ago that I abandoned for whatever reason. I've built quite a few of these kits- because I used to have a real one!
  2. Yep, this one right here... with the original Eleanor...
  3. Those wheels really set it off with the black... looks awesome. Lakes pipes are a nice touch.
  4. Whoever the QC person was sure dropped the ball on my kit lol... everything else seems to fit OK.
  5. That looks awesome. I can just see it flying down the drag strip!
  6. Love the color, very clean look
  7. I am keeping with it, I just contacted Revell to send me a new radiator support piece as mine had a huge dimple in it. So this model is going on the back burner for now.
  8. Wait a minute, it's not all rusty and stuff! Looks great- love the color
  9. What I do is go to ebay, search for "items ending soonest" in the "model kits- automotive" section, and set the price limit to $5. Even if I pay $10 shipping it's still cheaper than buying a kit locally.
  10. I'm already pretty deep in the build, and the warpage was "workable". I was just wondering. I managed to bend the hood and twist the frame so that they fit. I did buy it from a hobby store but it was nowhere near a heat source- maybe it was just a "Monday morning" kit.
  11. Some putty, sand paper, Bare Metal Foil, and a Revell '31 Ford kit.
  12. I've built a bunch of '56 Ford pickups, '57 Ford Fairlanes, and '53 Studebakers. I also think I put together 3 of those AMC Matadors, I remember one of them I bought the original release and almost immediately after I built it they re-released it. I was a little upset since I spent a pretty penny to get it. Of course, this is all back years ago, before my hiatus.
  13. Challenger TransAm car I "made" in Forza 4
  14. Rotary love! Assuming it's bridgeported, by the idle... How many RPM are your revving to?
  15. If they're on your computer, you need to transfer them to a fiel sharing site such as Photobucket (easiest to use IMO). Upload them, then use the links provided. If you use the "IMG links" you can just copy and paste the whole thing and you're done. Otherwise, get the URL for the photo and put [ img ] and [ /img ] around it (without the spaces).
  16. Did you have as much trouble with fit as I am having with this kit? My hood was too wide and my frame was severely warped. Your build came out very nice though. As others have stated, the color contrast with the wood is nice, and those "stakes" on the bedsides are a nice touch.
  17. Hi MCM, I recently got back into model cars since my other hobbies are getting too expensive and I'm trying to get out of debt. Not to mention it's a fun hobby and I've had a few models "sitting around" for a while so I decided, why not? I recently finished my first kit as a "born again" modeller- a Tamiya Mini Cooper. I also just started on my next creation: a Monogram 1955 Ford F-100. Next up after that is likely an older AMT '53 Studebaker. I mostly like building customs and hot rods, and also have a soft spot for small older European cars (like Mini Coopers and Fiat 500s). I almost never build anything box stock (my Mini Cooper is an exception). With my current model I plan to try my hand at using bare metal foil for the first time. Wish me luck! I reside in the Milwaukee area, and have a first-generation RX7 and a '66 Plymouth Belvedere 4-door for my summer cars. My other hobbies include target and skeet shooting, and playing PC shooter games (Battlefield 3!). Anyway enough with the boring talk, here's some pics. And remember what I said about not building box stock? Well here's the motor for my F-100, with a supercharger from a '55 Chevy kit (just need to find a pair of velocity stacks for it).
