The decal biz is tough. I been involved in two different aftermarket decal companies. My current biz has hundreds of different decals......many of which have been copied and currently for sale on ebay by a ......less than honest seller. Multiply 200 decals but the many hours each took to create then have someone steal them. VRM may not have a problem with theft but even if not it's a huge investment in time and money not knowing if you will ever sell enough to recover your cost.
For about $4000 we can get some printed at Chartahraf with in six months. But who wants to put up the cash???
I have paid up to $20.00 for a custom set that I wanted made but to me worth it. Of course when I do that I will get 3-4 done. For the cost and time a lot of these guys take I appreciate them so to me its worth it. On some colors you need to double up so buying an extra set also helps them out in my books. I have used from various makers and never had a problem. As for decals from printers, unless they do it themselves you can see the difference in crispness, and blocking i guess you would call it. And Dave I think we all know about a certain person who keeps changing his name.

Awesome job on both. Gives new ideas for them. Plus partial to oldmobiles myself.

You're welcome. I spent quite a lot back in the day buying his decals.
Still have a few of his. But there are quite a few I will need in future time.

Still in the throes of unpacking everything. May get model room "operating" by Christmas. Almost all unbuilt kits on the shelves. Sorting out the aftermarket stuff (real pain) and dealing with a damaged display case (mover needs to send repairman). Now a member of Scale Auto Builders Assn. May be back for a visit in May. Looks like we may have a buyer for the Palatine house.
Sorry to hear about the breakage and the loss of seeing you at the meetings. Glad you may have a buyer for the house. I still havent unpacked since the move to this slumlord place. No room anyway to unpack, and sold most of the stuff of over the last few years. Hope everything goes smoothly the rest of the way for you.

Yes I am. How you doing.

I love Freds decals and use them whenever possible. He is in my model group, but rarely comes. When I was driving a truck, I would stop at model empire back in the day and he always had a bunch of freds decals. In my opinion can never have to many of freds decals.

Did a great trade with Tom aka Modlbldr.

Welcome Spence and some great builds you have there.

Welcome Bill.

Welcome Charles. Look around and enjoy. Some great people on here and willing to help.
-
Way wicked cool. Great work on the fine details and scratch building.
-
Those are amazing. Better than what you get in the kit.

If it looks like a sleeper it is, if it is a box where the side opens it is for extra space. On my truck it was for extra cargo space.
-
OUCH. Man that hurts even looking at it. Sorry it happened, and just take your time in repairing them.

Hi Steve, this link should work https://www.rookieresin.com/ if you still don't get anything, it may be your internet is slow. The web page has lots if pictures so it may need a little load time. Let me know if you still have trouble and I will do what I can to help you. I tried the link and it worked fine so try again and see if it works. Thanks, Bill
Sorry getting back so late to you. Great site and see quite a few things to get. You were right about load time. Area I live in we always have problems with internet.
-
Hi Bill. When I click on link I dont get anything showing up. Just a blank page that says rookie resin. Even when I do a search the same thing happens. Is there something I need to do with the computer to see. Also I am not very computer smart.
