Ahhh I thought it said 89 for some reason. Trust me any 1:1 owner would much rather have that aod so you’re absolutely right on that one!?

Nice build however the 2.3l those years didn’t come with an AOD tranny. They came with a a4dl also in rangers and explorers. I’ve swapped quite a few

Thanks for the feedback guys you all are so very nice here. I'll try to get bench time tonight I cant seem to get done with these 1:1s. Just did valve cover gaskets, radiator, lift, head unit install. Still gotta get oil pan gasket and woodgrain wheel done.. Staggered ruccis?

Stay back up off the car about 12-18" when spraying and every few layers of panels I'll drown it in a few coats of clear. That's how I do fades. If you get far back enough you can almost get airbrush consistency.

Regular 3m blue tape my brother. I lay it out on my table and either use an exacto or 2 razors taped together side by side to cut the tape thin. I do get rough edges when I do I backtape and respray the panel til I'm satisfied. Alot of time and tape.

Couldn't leave well enough alone so had to pattern the dash and package tray to match and flow with the roof.

Since I last built anything theyve come out with molotow? I love these things. Yaasss!!! This is what the games been missing! Only thing I wonder is will clearing ruin the finish? Til I know for sure I just won't handle it after being applied.

First things first.. Drop that icy blue flake on the body.. Remember this is kitchen table primitive building so with time I'll get better pics with a backdrop. Thanks for being patient with me.

Hello mcm world. I've watched this site regularly for years but never posted my own work mainly because I don't feel it's worthy lol. That and I've been out of the model game 10-15 years. By time I started opening doors photoetch plumb wire flocking etc I got burnt out. I see a few people still building ive bought traded etc with back then if I don't know you please feel free to comment or share ideas. With all that aside lets start TwoTones builders block! ?

I would say stay tuned but since it's her car she builds it at her pace so might be done fast might take all year idk. Not doing alot of detail just purple spark plug wires. I'm on the fence on if im gonna bmf the trim. Usually id do a nice mix of gold and ultra bright chrome but since I.was last doing models heavy 10-15 years ive been introduced to molotow and may consider doing the brightwork in that? My only concern is I know she will handle the model a bit showing it off when its first done and dont want the finish ruined or smeared. Can you clear over molotow pen to.lock it in? If not im doing bmf with hella clear locking it in. Thanks for looking! -

Originally she didnt want anything but a fade. No patterns or murals. But then..... She seen her dad doing a roof on another practice impala body and well ya know where this is going.... Remember.. No airbrush.. -

She wanted it to sit up on 3 wheels so had to make a cylinder out of small steel rod (just a hair smaller then paperclip diameter) and had her put the coils in gloss red with the testors paint pen. Did a little massaging finessing and twisting the trailing arms to give it the look it needed
