  1. Hello Daniel I love your idea; it would be great to get a bunch of us together to try to document, catalogue and digitally preserve model kits. Instructions, box tops, end panels, decal sheets, and even pics of all the parts and sprues, if possible. That is the dream, ha ha.
  2. I hope I've gotten caught up with everyone's request for the PDF. If I've forgotten you or the link doesn't work, just hit me up and I'll get you taken care of. Thanks everyone, I appreciate all your support!
  3. Wow, John, your Atlantic is sick amazing! Dude, you're like a living legend! I'd love to see more of it! I loved working with Lindberg's Atlantic too, though I found the plastic for it (and their Crown Vic) just a wee bit more rubbery and elastic to work with than typical styrene. Did you find the same? Here's what I did with my Atlantic: used the nose and scratchbuilt everything else to make a funky woody!
  4. Hello everyone Wow, this is awesome to see so many people interested in this! I was about to trash my scrapbook, but then I was like: "Nah, I really need to share this with the modelling community!" It's a shame I never thought to properly credit everyone's fine work back then, and I've forgotten the names of a lot of the amazing builders. There's tons of great stuff from Jairus, Juha, and many, many more. I've sent download links to everyone who's responded so far; please do let me know if the links aren't working. I'll find a way to get your PDFs to you. Thanks!
  5. Before the internet, gathering solid reference material on cars was tough. So, all through the 90s, I kept a scrapbook of everything cool and interesting I ever found in model car magazines. Just discovered it hidden in a box, so I scanned it, and I have a hires PDF (83 MB, via Dropbox link) for anyone who would like to have a copy. Just send a message or comment in this thread. There's tons of awesome ideas, cool models, great reference and good times. Enjoy.
  6. Just uploaded these seven Mopar kits to the galleries:
  7. Hello Greg, how does a thread get pinned? In the meantime, I just uploaded these 33 kits to the galleries:
  8. Thanks, peekay; I think I'm gonna put up a MISC category, to throw in the Henry J, Duesenberg, Cord, Hudson and Packard kits I have. I feel like I should also add the Austins, since Revell had at least 7 gasser kits.
  9. Hey W-409, thanks for the pics! This reminds me, I have three Henry J kits to upload. What company should I list them under? Weren't they bought out by Ford or something? Certainly, Henry J wouldn't merit having it's own gallery, would it? As for dragsters, I wasn't really interested in including them, cuz I find they're so far removed from real, actual cars, and I feel pretty much the same about NASCAR, Indy and sprint racers, dune buggies, diggers, monster trucks, one-off show cars, salt flats record breakers, Euro, Japanese and that sort of thing. No disrespect to anyone, I just had to set limits to the scope of this project. However, I have included many funny cars, gassers, altereds, early modifieds and NASCARs, driven in part by my own romantic nostalgia for these kits! Will post more updates ASAP. Thanks, guys! Could NOT have done this without you! Keep 'em comin'!
  10. Awesome! Do you know what year this truck is? Thanks!
  11. Hey W-409, oh yes, please DO upload all your Airfix MPC reissues. Earlier, I'd come across MPC's "SaberVette" rebadged as an Airfix kit, and I wrongly assumed it was a Photoshop cuz I knew it was originally an MPC. Upload as many Airfix kits as you have, and I'll add them in. Also, seeing this awesome Burnout Bird again just made me remember that I totally forgot about MPC's Corvette versions of this kit! I loved the "Firefighter" and "NitroVette", which used the same chassis. I just found images, and I'll upload everything ASAP. Thanks, dude! We now have nearly 3600 kits! Keep 'em comin!
  12. Thanks to mrknowetall, I've updated 17 of my existing gallery images with better pics, and added these 38 kits I didn't have. Keep 'em comin', guys!
  13. Thanks, mrknowetall! I saw about 50 kits there that either I don't have or are better replacements. Will add ASAP. Thanks!
  14. Hey W-409 and ToyLvr, thank you for the pics; I just added them to the galleries, in addition to 10 other kits: This concludes uploading my collection of nearly 3500 images of American model kits, and I will continue to update the galleries with new images of missing kits and better images of crappy pics as they get posted in this thread. My goal is to someday make up a huge poster, say 24" x 36", of all these model kits, cropped and cleaned up. Thanks again everyone, and keep the images coming! Take care.
  15. Just uploaded my STUDEBAKER Photobucket gallery, check it out: http://s1298.photobucket.com/user/StefMarcinkowski/library/STUDEBAKER?sort=9&page=1 And thank you, AzTom, for your awesome pics! I just replaced the 32 Chevy and added the 58 Pontiac, 40 Willys and 57 Chevy images.
  16. Just uploaded my WILLYS Photobucket gallery, check it out: http://s1298.photobucket.com/user/StefMarcinkowski/library/WILLYS?sort=9&page=1
  17. Just uploaded my PLYMOUTH Photobucket gallery, check it out: http://s1298.photobucket.com/user/StefMarcinkowski/library/PLYMOUTH?sort=9&page=1 Set contains: Barracuda and Cuda, Belvedere, Duster, Fury, GTX, Horizon, Prowler, Road Runner, Satellite, Superbird, Valiant and Volare.
  18. Wow, that's an amazing story; I'm sure those 89 ZR-1 kits must be almost as valuable as the real cars, ha ha. Also, pretty sure that blue Vette is a 75, as the box art style looks very similar to AMT's red 75 coupe. Lastly, I just updated the galleries with 14 new pics. Thanks to all for your awesome contributions: Only Plymouth, Willys and Studebaker remain, unless I've forgotten any American auto companies?
  19. Hey kataranga AMT's 70 Impala has a decent set of very similar custom square headlight bezels moulded as part of a chromed headlight/bumper/grille piece. IIRC, it includes clear headlight lenses.
  20. Just uploaded my DODGE A-Z Photobucket gallery, check it out: http://s1298.photobucket.com/user/StefMarcinkowski/library/DODGE%20A-Z?sort=9&page=1 Set contains: Desoto, 330, 880, Challenger, Charger, Copperhead, Coronet, Dart, Daytona, Demon, Deora, Lancer, Magnum, Monaco, Omni 024, Polara, Sidewinder, Stealth and Viper.
  21. Hey AzTom, thanks so much. Is this a 1975? Hey o-man, thanks! Going to add these to the multi-packs ASAP!
  22. Thanks, Jeremy! I'm almost done now; just Plymouth and Dodge left. And on that note: Just uploaded my DODGE trucks and vans Photobucket gallery, check it out: http://s1298.photobucket.com/user/StefMarcinkowski/library/DODGE%20Trucks%20and%20vans?sort=9&page=1 Set contains: D-50, Ram, VTS, Dakota, L-700, Ramcharger, Ram Van and Caravan.
  23. Hey 421gto: thanks for the Goats, and I found 3 others, plus an old Tempest. I'll add the 62 Vette and 50th anniversary 3-pack ASAP. Thanks again!
