  1. What that kit is, is a 66 R Code 427 Fairlane basically a 66 Thunderbolt. For 66 there was only 56 or so made, some numbers are as high as 70 .... all were as follows, wimbldon white, black bench seat interior, 4 speed only, 9 inch Nod. All were the 425hp dual 4bbl with glass ramair lift off hood, radio clock delete. Now for 67 there was a 410hp single 4bbl eng. option that came with the stock flat steel hood, other color as well as interior trim levels available for 67 ........ If you saw a 66-7 Fairlane N/S it would have been a 289 4spd definately NOT a 427 car or 390 for that matter Alan
  2. Nice, but remove the N/Stock decal or replace the 427 with a 289 .......... the 427 fairlanes ran anywhere from A,B,C or D/Stock.
  3. Niko, was unaware of your limited availability of kits and parts ... so in your case I guess you have to use what you can and be creative. Alan Check in the "under glass" forum, there are several photo of 72 Olds engine shots that show the Q-jet in that kit.
  4. Some Fords had the Rochester Quadra-Jet, so no, the 57 carb is era incorrect as the Q-jet came on the scene in 1965. Snag one from the Rev. 72 Olds kits and bring the fuel line into the right side of the inlet. Buick, Pont, Olds Q-jets came straight in at the front.
  5. Niko, turn the sump around, think about where the fuel will go under hard acceleration ... it is going to go to the most rearward part of the fuel tank Keep up the good work Alan

You are doing such a nice job on this, nice cage work btw. that you may as well knock it out of the park and go that extra little bit more to make it right. I realize not all auto model builders have knowledge about the 1 to 1s or how they work

One other engine tip, spark plugs on Hemi heads are located deep in the head, so the spark plug boots are not seen. So to make it prototypically correct you would drill out the hole on the valve cover approx. 1.5 scale inches and run the lead down into it sinking the boot completely in the hole.

James, don't just remove the bowties, remove the intake all together and use the proper intake with correct port spacing. Completely wrong, Hemi head ports are evenly spaced apart, totally different from Chevys which are siamesed ......... You are doing such a nice job NOT to make the correction
  12. Nice, just noticed the rear fender welting, nice touch, I think that is the first time I have seen that done ....... Another home run ! Alan

  14. VERY cool not to mention, extremely advanced build for 1966, as well as bang on period correct, very nice to see...... love the level of detailing eg. the rear finned brake drums, rip chord ! NICE!! Would enjoy seeing more of this one as well as others you have done Clifford .... Alan

  24. I will also be doing a few different sets of decals for Scotts Fairmont body, Alan
  25. Hi John, I have a back up of many to get done. Most don't realize the work involved in creating these decals, every single thing you see on my decal sheets are hand drawn on the pc, they are not reduced scans or photos like other decals that are done by some, many many hours of work. Feel free to send me large scan photos any time for potential new projects Alan
