Building this one for a friend on mine. No complaints so far but I had a major paint issue. Used some Duplicolor from a rattle can (I believe it was an enamel) and it wrinkled really bad. After soaking it in some dot3 and a good scub/sanding I started over with some Tamiya metallic blue and still got a wrinkle problem. I'm using the same primer I have used on all my other builds, and same cleaning sanding techniques. Any chance it could be the molded plastic itself? The rest of the model painted fine. Used testors enamel, no problems. Still scratching my head on this one. After checking the duplicolor bottle it was a acrylic lacquer.

Thanks for the kind words! I had and uncle that passed a few years back and was a huge Allison fan and an incredible model builder,I had lots of inspiration. I tried to make him proud!

Thanks! Im working on another stock car now and was thinking along the same lines but feel the same way! Lol. Im trying to get a few more builds under my belt before I start tackling the more advanced techniques.

Thats a great idea. I saw a stock car on this forum where they did body damage like you said and made tire marks on the side to make it look like some hardcore driving was going on. I dont think it would have the same effect on yours though since it is black. But that might depend on what you go with for decals, if any.

Looks sharp! Any plans for a decal scheme?

Looking awesome!

The hood is done with some clear on it. I was worried about the decals wrinkling up but they seem to have accepted the clear rather well. Now off to get rest of the body done.
