    AMT 53 corvette

All I did was rescribed them , the color I used its just Duplicolor gray primer with gloss over it, I think being gray really helps the panel lines look the way they do.

    AMT 53 corvette

Thanks! yea at first i was planning to use tuner style exhaust pipes, but i found this 2 eyelets that went in there perfectly so i painted them and glued them in place.
  5. Well, Finally done! After 2 paint jobs, bodywork, headaches and losing interest again and again i can call this one finished. Here is the link to rthe w.i.p. some chassis pics.
  6. Well the 3rd day of fall and back to the bench.Time to continue on this one and even maybe finish it. I decided on wheels and 'ill be using the Boyd,s wheels from the Chezoom kit. I stripped the chrome and I'm going to apply a charcoal mix on them. Also got the interior and engine finished. The interior is 90 something % done. Next to put the engine and interior on the chassis.
  7. Thank you!
  8. I have been wanting to try 2k clear for a while and now that there is a eastwood driving distance from me I was wondering if anybody has ever use their urethane clear.
  9. Well I finished the body work (except for the hood). Second time around having to redo the body work I decided to get rid of the body trim on the sides. I saw a review on this AMT kit and they pointed out the body trim on the driver side was slanted upwards, something to do when they retooled the mold for it. I also didn't use the taillight fins.I decided to make them out of putty and make them round like the rest of that body line. I had a lot of trouble getting rid of the ghosting on the trim but I finally solved that issue. Also started detailing the interior. Thank's for looking!
  10. Yea, that seems to be the norm for me now, paint more than once. I don't mind the painting is the bodywork I don't like to do. Thanks!
  11. Yes, is just good old tape.
  12. Got some work done on this one. I polished the paint but the finish got cloudy, I dont know what went wrong but is in break fluid now. I will just have to redo the body work and everything else again. It seems every kit I paint I have to paint twice so here goes round two. Meanwhile I started on the chassis and will continue to work on the interior.
  13. Just beautiful! Did you widened the rear fenders?
  14. Thank you. I usually lower every kit I build, but this one I thought it looked good withe stock height. thanks thank you.
  15. Nice!!
  16. Thank you all for the great comments.
  17. Nice build, really diging that color.
  18. It's finally finished! I really enjoyed building this kit, I ended up breaking the windshield frame on one side while polishing it but l was able to glue it before painting it alclad chrome so it's not visible. It was also a little stubborn to line up the chassis up front but not terrible. Here is a link to the W.I.P. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/109500-amt-1972-corvette/ here are some outside pics altough it was cloudy when I took them. I do intend to paint the stripes on the hard top and then I will post more pics. (hopefully the sun will be out then) I also dirtied up the chassis, I might still dirty up the engine bay a bit so it looks like it's driven and not a trailer queen.
  19. Looking good!
  20. Thank you! No it's a box for the blue max funny car. Thank's
  21. Also started painting the interior parts.
  22. Got some more work on this one and started wiring the engine.
  23. Thank you! Just trying my best and having fun. Thank you!
  24. Im almost done with my 72 corvette so I started another corvette, the 1953 one. My friend gave me a while back a box with 5 corvettes from AMT so the next few builds will be mostly Corvette's. This one so far seems more challenging than the 72. The body consist of 3 parts and both the front and the back pieces don't seem to match up properly. So far i glued the pieces and puttied and primered and puttied again and also painted the body with testors gloss gray. I also stripped the chrome of the plated pieces and opened up the front grill and made large exhaust openings so I can put some big exhaust tips.I also started the engine and Im planning to paint the interior in blue. That's all for now. here are some pics of my progress so far. Now to wait for a couple of weeks for the paint to dry so I can spray some clear on it. meanwhile I will start on the interior and continue on the engine.
  25. Thank you for the quick reply. I thought they were photoetch or scratch built, they look very good.
