  1. Wow those are some great models, super imagination - Wayne
  2. Wow nice build I like the use of wood - One of the early Rolls-Royces was green with red mountings, so you have a precedence for your colours Wayne
  3. following George's suggestion, I found some 1/35 steel wheels off a military vehicle - They are about 2mm lower than the Packard's original wheels but i thought I would see how they looked - Any comments? Remember the car will be a bit higher once the suspension is in. Wayne
  4. Super car, nice colour Wayne
  5. Very nice choice, I like brass era cars Wayne
  6. Hi Brandon, welcome from an ex Saffa - Robertson is a great place to live - Show us your Mercury sometime please, I have always liked the Cougar since I saw one in Kimberley in the late 80s wayne
  7. very nice work, I am looking forward to seeing this come together Wayne
  8. Thanks George - I will look into the Military stuff, in fact I may have something - Will need to check size of wheels as the military is 1/35 and this is 1/32 - Not much difference but need to make them look at least a little to the right scale Wayne
  9. Started work on the weaver auto crane, the floor of the rear of the truck is not fixed in place hence the crane looks a bit skew Wayne
  10. Awesome build, I did not even know this rod existed, great work - Wayne
  11. Actually its wood and aluminium, but would you be happy if someone cut up a one off / rare Muscle Car? Probably not. Wayne
  12. Well I might be a big Rolls-Royce fan and I would be very pissed if someone did this to the original of this car but it does look quite nice - I look forward to seeing it progress, wayne
  13. Thanks Scott, I am going to scratch the wrecker part, cannot afford to buy a model to pull the bits off Wayne
  14. Mock up of the cab of the wrecker, I will be using the soft top roof to make a hard top cab Wayne
  15. Working on 1/32 Airfix 1933 Alfa Romeo and 1/32 Airfix Bugatti T35 Wayne
  16. Right so I have most of a Matchbox Packard kit left over from the refurb of my Packard Victoria and was thinking what to do with it - Well I came across this photo of a Packard tow truck in the Birdwood Automobile Museum in Australia (Photo from their website) and thought that would do nicely - I know the car in the photo is a different body (looks like a c1929 640 roadster) but I think I can get away with modifing the tourer body on the kit, either cutting out the back end and inserting the towing equipment or cutting the whole body off behind the front seats and adding some sort of a pickup body and a roof made up from the tourer roof. Is there a source for the towing equipment in 1/32 perhaps? I also need to find the right type of wheels, anyone got a lindberg 1930 Packard in 1/32 that they have not used the wheels and tyres from please. Wayne
  17. What a great idea, a pity I do not have anything to build that would be linked to him or any of the films - I will keep an eye on this build though Wayne
  18. Hi everyone, recently started work on my 1/32 Airfix Alfa Romeo. Going together pretty well, I have decided not to use the folded down top as per the kit as I think it looks aweful. I am going with a tonneau cover over the rear compartment as well. The rear chassis cross member was missing but I have managed to get the dimensions and have made up a new one - I was wondering how to sort out the wheel mount but found out the spare wheel fits in rather snugly so no mount needed. Body and chassis have been primered and sprayed medium blue since the photo was taken - All the chrome work has been sprayed with alclad polished aluminium - I have had one bit of misfortune thought, I lost one of the wing lamps to the dreaded carpet monster - So for now it will be lampless, until I can find someone with spare lamps Regards Wayne
  19. started work on the Packard again, onto final assembly, realised tonight that I have parts I had not painted ready for chrome, so delayed till tuesday now before I can finish assembling the model - Photo taken on my work in progress workshop diorama Wayne
  20. Thanks Tony, Was playing around with bits I had from old christmas decorations, the first is a set of four flat top LEDs set out an inch apart, very good for workshop lighting i think, the other is larger domed LEDs with very centralized light which I think would look good as outdoor security lighting. Corrugated sheeting has arrived so I hope to get onto making the roof tomorrow - Depends on what the wife expects me to do around the house!! Thanks for your comment on the 250LM, it is definitely a better build than one I did around 1990 Wayne
  21. Been playing with some lighting Wayne
  22. Some test shots to see how it is all looking - I also found a website that sells poster, boxes etc - I downloaded their sample page and I think I may try their set - still need to make up a box or two Wayne
  23. Wow that is cool, nice work Wayne
