  1. Thanks for the comments! Glad you all like it so far. Should be wrapping up soon. Don, this kit has given me trouble at every turn too.
  2. For my second build in many years I went with the Revell '68 Corvette. Build is basically box-stock with a few minor details added. Kit was assembled and primed with Tamiya fine gray. Exterior color is Scale Finishes GM International Blue, 3 coats, which I shot through a Badger 350 at 20 psi. I put a quick coat of DuPont clear on the hood but it fisheyed a little so I stopped right there. Honestly the Scale Finishes paint is so good it really doesn't need a clear. Chassis is Tamiya flat black with details painted and then the whole washed with a mixture of artist's mars black and turpentine. All chrome was de-chromed and resprayed with Spaz Stix black backer and mirror chrome. Interior is a work in progress but basically just Tamiya semi gloss black with some embossing powder carpets. Should be done in a few days. Will post under glass then.
  3. Haha. Sorry, Tom. I should have said "Yes, it IS the new packaging" :-)
  4. I think those are right on the money. Thanks for the help!
  5. Does anyone know where I can find a set of wheels like the ones pictured here? I'm working on a GT350H and I would like to use these wheels instead of the kit's black and chrome versions. Thanks!
  6. Haha. No, not yet. The '06 is still being finished. Part of that process is a final polish and coating the windshield in Future.
  7. Hi, Just a quick intro and a big thank you to all those who contribute to this forum. Truly a great resource! I just started building scale autos after taking a few years off from the hobby. I used to build mainly military (armor, figures, etc.) and HO railroad. I'm a huge car guy so I figured this time around I would venture in to car models. Lots of new techniques to master, not the least of which is avoiding dust in your finish! I have started my collection with a pair of Hertz Mustangs, both destined for my office once complete. The '06 is below and almost ready (once I clear the dust that is) the '66 is in the wings. I've attached a few pics. The half track is from about 12 years ago. Thanks again for all the great write-ups and advice! John
