  1. Actually I sprayed them with clearcoat, waited a few days and sprayed them again with a good coat. The other options mentioned they don't have here. The clearcoating worked fairly well but still had some breaking. After they were applied and dried I coated them again.
  2. Thanks they were a bugger. The other two will come shortly and then another part if I can locate a rear deck
  3. Thanks I'll try to get some more pics up when the room get cleared up.
  4. Tom, I am in the middle of cleaning out the room and can't get good pics. Too much stuff in the way but here is one pic of onn side for you.
  5. Force, It was. Hard to get those fine lines taped off, and with all the areas you get the paint bleed. But it takes some time and fine tuning. It was a fun one to build. The same with the decals.
  6. Just posted the finished build in the Under Glass section with the hauler
  7. Took almost 2 weeks, but got the 2nd part done. More work than expected. The old decals gave me some trouble.
  8. Sorry there isn't more pics of the progress. I don't think of that until 1/2 the model is done. I just like to build them.
  9. A lot of time and effort put into this. The end result was worth every second. Nice Job
  10. Well I got the paint on the body and a few decals. I never done this one before, there was more to do than I expected. http:// After the touch ups I added the decals. I had a lot of issues with them as they were old and crumbly. I cleared them twice a week ago. They wasn't too bad but some still broke up. http:// Got the wings on and cleared the truck, just exhaust to go. Next will be in the Under Glass section in a day or two. http://
  11. Doug, That would have been cool to ride in that. They visited our town about 35 yrs ago. Thanks,Force I didn't know that about the decals. I should have seen that. I have a book here The Adventures Of Tyrone Malone and there are pics of the two versions in it.I see that Modeltrucking has the Bandag ones now. More pics comming as I didn't realize there was so much painting to do on the body, cab and hood.
  12. JT nice the Orange really does stand out for a color. I like them
  13. Just a note to builders on old unbilt kits. Here are some problems that can occur when buying them. I recently got an older kit (not from any members here) and I found that this can happen. #1 Parts can be warped #2 Parts can also be brittle and break very easy #3 Decals are useless There can be other issues but these can be common. Just a note to beware of when buying older kits for assembly. If you just collect them for the sake of having them then it doesn't matter. So beware when buying or selling as these are some problems that can occur with old kits. Just thought I'd throw this out there.
  14. I try to use different colors. I have more blue but I'll google images to find something that stands out then use that color, or try to come close to what the truck came in when manufactured.
  15. If I get them I build them. I'd rather see them on a shelf than in a box. A few more to go if I can get what I need.
  16. Most of the work is done on the Hideout and Bandit trucks. Just decals and trim to go. Will post on finished section when complete. And yes I STILL need another rear deck as there is one more part of the fleet I need it for. Plus a KW 925 Sleeper
