Hi guys, as I finished early my job yesterday, I went (again :0) to my hobby store buy a new kit.... I finally bought a Ford 31 Model A "Ratrod" which doesn't looks like a ratrod on the box!! When I first got home, I told my wife I won't open the box until we come back from vacation ( 2 weeks in Japan, we leave tomorrow..). Unfortunately, someone (me) could not resist to "just" have a look... At the end, here is what I did..Lol Quick Mockup for you guys, Adjustment has to be done on the roof, and I cut the frame in 3 pieces. Now I am wondering if you won't make a new frame from scratch?! Thanks Acegarage Guy for is tutorial on Zeed Frame. Thanks for watching

thank you Bill for your tutorial, it's awesome. I am going to erase the marks and redo it properly. I will post some pics before cutting with accurate lines. thank you very much Mickael -
Hi guys, I just got a Ford 31 Model A this morning, and I would like to make a Ratrod of it. But before I cut, I would like you check if my cut lines are correct. 1st is the frame: As you can see, I marked the vertical lines where the firewall starts and the wheel arch at the back starts as well, and I marked the 45 degres lines than I will cut to make the zeed frame. Are those two 45 degres cut are correct? At the front, is it a problem if the cut is right after the engine "stand'? for the back, is that gonna be a problem for the floor? 2nd is the chopping roof: I applied tape around the body, the cut lines are the edges on both side of the tape, is it correct? I am sure I will have more questions as I go further in the project. thank you for your time. Mickael.

Good afternoon Guys, Happy new Year! With the rain here in Vancouver (what a surprise!), I decided to start my new kit than I got, Chevy 39 Coupe. I lowered a little bit the back suspension, open trunk and hinges, body has been primed with PlastiKote Sandable primer. I will use One Coat lacquer from Testors, but I do not know which color yet! any idea? the base coat, I am hesitating between gold, silver or even copper! interior I do not know yet as well. here are some pics thank you for watching. ok, what would be the best paint then? -
hi guys, I hope everybody is doing well. I just received my new kit,and I am already existed to built it, 39 Chevy Coupe Lowrider But I may have a problem. As I really want do a lowrider paint on it (see example), I wanted to buy a acrylic paint called Folkart extreme glitter to bring a deep candy color and a color variety I wanna thin the paint and use a wide paint brush for the strips, and spray rattle for wide area. I know the result won't be as good as airbrushed but do you think it can work pretty well to paint the strip with a paint brush? thank you guys

Best masking Tape
vancouver71 replied to vancouver71's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Wahoo ok i am gonna try tamiya. Also do you wait for the paint to dry or take the masking off right away? Thank you guys for your advice -
Hi guys, this afternoon I tried to do a design paint with masking tape, I used 3M Scotch blue painters tape and Testors tape ( that S!@#T doesn't stick at all) and here is the result... Screwed!! So what is the best tape, one that sticks and doesn't peel the paint off when unmasking. Thank you guys.

Quick update: The paint on the body came out pretty good and smooth. As I taped the hood and trunk to "design" strips, the tape didn't (or did not!!) stick properly and everything was bad... Just sink the hood and trunk into Pine Sol Degreaser. Started the engine yesterday. Thank you guys.

Hi guys, I am wondering where you guys get your good deal when you buy kits? I usually go to my hobby store and pay 25$ for a kit. I look on Ebay or Craiglist but Its 20$ instead of 25$. Where else then? Modeling club? Thank you for your time.
