  1. I accidentally typed 108 and didn't realize it till it was already posted!
  2. Yeah the kit came with a historical reference book so I will just use that thanks for all the help guys and yeah I had to clear my work space to make room ! I wish there were more videos on you tube of this exact kit being built but I'm just gonna go at it slow its gonna long trip!
  3. Just got this its freaking huge! 32" can't wait to start it doing a little research on the actual color scheme for pt-109 but no color photos from any archives and no real information except medium green with red hull but none the less gonna keep searching!

    64' impala

Completed this two days ago! All box stock pics are a little fuzzy!
  5. Where did you get the salter or is it scratch built?
  6. Thanks guys! I have the truck finished just have to take some better pics
  7. So I started work on this wrecker twoonths ago and forgot to take poctures from the start! So I cut the molded engine out from the cab and chassis, fabed some engine mounts and used the engine from the billy carter chevy kit. I used some ribbon for a poncho that I wrapped around the back of the seat. I used testors metalizer aluminum on the rear deck then black washed it. I used pins for the control sticks and the white stripe and reflector decals from the 77 gmc plow truck on the cab, mud flaps and rear end. I'm making a hood jack out of guitar string. I used model car garage's under hood insulation for the hood and I found some .45mm silver metallic bead wire that I'm using for the cable! So far it's coming along nicely
  8. Very nice work! That is the same kit that I was gonna get to build a replica of my 1:1 84' silverado! Thanks for the inspiration
  9. Stated work on this Pete! Pics of my progress to come! So far I really enjoy this kit although I had one misshap and that was I attached the price that the radiator and engin mount to backwards so I had to remove it flip around and with some minor sanding I was able to save it!
  10. I found a truck that will work its a 79' chevy step side billy carter from model round up same scale some minor work and its also in 1/25! Thanks again everyone!
  11. So kataranga that's the cab from the gmc kit with the plow? I might just take the bed from the wrecker. And modify the chassis to fit the bed and wheels! Thanks everyone for the advice!
  12. So I recently purchased the 77 Gmc wrecker from revelle. I don't like the molded in engine on the wrecker so I was wondering if the cab from the 77 gmc snow plow lit would fit the chassis for the wrecker I haven't purchased snow plow kit I built one and seen the wrecker and thought it would be a cool build. Has anyone done this or tried this any tips on it would be great thanks in advance
  13. Thanks! I really like this kit gonna have to do another! But, my next project will be a replica of my old 1:1 1984 silverado 3/4 ton so I'm ordering the 1984 chevy Amt kit fromodel roundup!
  14. Well I started this a week ago gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised by this kit really no fit issues except with the rear of the cab I had to shave a little of the interior tub to get the back panel to fit right. It didn't have a master cylinder or any real good under the hood details so I stole a master cylinder from a Camaro fits fine looks better. I might do some more detail under the hood but I don't yet. I made a hole in the seat and added a cushion made from an old make up sponge. I made some rust through weathered it using the hairspray method. I stoked the wheels in grout cleaner along with the bumpers I might add some valve stems to the wheels. The engine from the kit is not real accurate I didn't have a 350 or a 305 in my parts box so I stole an air cleaner from a Chevelle and the manifold and carb from a impala not accurate but the work again didn't have the right ones in my parts box! Not finished yet I don't know if I want to add the plow or not I have some old tires I might add to the bed along with some other junk also purchased a tread plated tool box for the bed
  15. Thanks for the good words! Yeah I was sceptic all of this kit of any snap tite kit really but with a little doctoring it turned out good I'm thinking of getting the snap tite freight liner next! I have the revel 359 peterbuilt coming in a few days that's gonna go with the texaco tanker bring on winter! Whoo hoo!
  16. This was my weekend project! I used the hairspray method for the weathering though it was hard because I use rattle cans to paint I do not own a airbrush so the paint was removed with rubbing alcohol! The exhaust stack was removed and I made one out of 1/8" aluminum tubing. The mud flaps on the trailer and rig were sanded down and then I used a dremell tool to chip the ends to look worn! All in very pleased with the kit for a snap-tite kit I'm pleased with the detail on the tanker and tractor
  17. Thanks for the help! I guess I'll start practicing this weekend!
  18. So I'm to make either the top pic or the last one? And they will give me clearance from the frame and not hit the steering box?
  19. Those look like 1:1 headers! I'm gonna search my parts box for some different headers
  20. I think I might take a break from cars and go back to doing 1/35 scale military again! Give my brain a rest!
  21. Yeah that's what I'm doing ill do a highboy another time! I'm having fit issues with the big v8. With the headers on the engine won't go on so I took them off and tried to refit them and now the driver side header hits the steering box I removed that and they still don't fit so I might have to notch the frame to make room for the headers and also without the steering box mounted the steering linkage doesn't line up! This revell kit is a pain in the ass! I had issues on the green 32' coupe I did in April with the grill not fitting glad its mot a show peice
  22. Yeah I'm still not sure if I want to make it a highboy or a full fender coupe! I don't have a highboy in my collection they are all coupes leaning toward the high boy!
  23. got the engine wired, interior tub is finished but not in the photos and have it mocked up as highboy but I am going full fender!
  24. So I recently purchased a jimmy flinstone resin camaro wagon body I'm doing some research and was wondering if anyone else has tried to build one of these amd if ao any auggestions? I know I have to use a 2006 camaro kit but when dry fitting the interior I noticed the rear half doesn't fill the void and is slightly angled downwards. Am I to use sheet styrene to make up the difference and also the wheel wells don't fit properly thereis a 2mm gap between well and the rear corner of the body! I went ahead and built the camaro itself and was thinking if trying to use a 2010 or newer camaro doner kit if not ill get another 06 camaro! Again if anyone has Reyes this and has any suggestions let me know and if so pics of yours might help me out to
  25. Looks good! I have that tanker kit and haven't mustered up enough to try and tackle it yet! Again good job!
