  1. The chrome bumpers from the '75 kit do not fit the resin '73. Only having the clearcoat part of The Spaz Stik left I used Duplicolor primer, two fifferent gloss blacks and Duplicolor Chrome. Both turned our ok until I applied the Spas Stix clearcoat. they are obviously not compatible. I just might do it without clear.

Thought at first it was the gas cap but couldn't visualize how the hatchback opened.  Ah the days of compacts. Hard to see from your pics but, does the gas cap have the details too?  Really needs a hemi.. Hemi Gremi!

Actually John, on lythe rear window opened . there was a twist handle just below it.

Nooooooooo!  Nice touch the orange wheels matching the accent striping.

You even a Gremlin on the front fender, should be able to mold that for the back round thingie... can't be the gas cap, key hole cover?

The gremlin logo is on the gas cap. Quite neatly molded too.

The round thing is the gas cap. The keyhole was in the handle above it.

What a sleeper with the V8.  Your cousin should be able to do a mirror image in photoshop st give you a template for the decals.

John, here's something my photoshop cousin  did with a photo of the '34 Chevy that once belonged to my dad and that I restored after picking it up from what had been my grandfather's farm My dad died in 1954 when I was about 3 years old.She put both of us in it. His picture was taken in 1942. Mine was taken in 2015 or so. I am 40 years older than him.

These cars were real POS, but they were sure unique looking. My GF's sister owned one and I heard horror stories.

Of course I also understand wanting to build a model of your car.  I have that '75 Gremiln X kit too, because of its unique look.

I'm curious: what are the visual differences between '75 and the '73? Is it just the details of the "C" pillar?

What would be really cool is if you could get those stripes done in metallic gold.

That is one of the differences, but the grille is the one which stand out the most. I'm not sure what issues your relative had but mine was dead reliable. The worst feature was its skittishness on icy roads, no weight on the rear combined with lots of power.

  7. My first car was a 1973 Gremlin X with the 304 and the Levi's interior. I am going to attempt replicating it using the AMT '75 kit with  Flintstone  a resin '72-'73 body.My cousin with the photoshop skills has converted an internet image with red stripes to one with  gold stripes. Now we have to figure out how to do the the mirror image to do the other side of the car.

Yeesss! Awesome color! Originally I was gonna paint the Camaro frost green with pearl blue tint. Then I decided to go with the boxart blue. I'm getting the paint on now... Here we go!

It's pretty close to the box car, I used a blue base then sprayed the Metallic blue over that now to add decals and clear... sanding, polishing. Yada,Yada,Yada.😁
