  9. I have finally gone crazy! I am going to open the whole drivers side of the kit I will fill it with scratchbuilt and cast detail parts. I think I am nutz just for cutting open such a great kit OOB!!!!!!!!!! Crosses fingers and hopes for the best!
  10. Id like to see the 1/16th scale Pete 359 and Kw 900 make a comeback, but thats just me
  11. Its kinda crappy when you build a kit for someone, they tell you their budget, can't find the kit so you are forced to go on ebay and end up spending their budget on the kit alone. Then comes the deaded "ok do I tell them it will cost them more or do I throw in the cost of paint and assembly for nothing"........ not to mention my budget isn't the greatest either. I wish AMT would bring back a lot of the old issue kits, more people ask about the old ALF's now then they did a few years ago when they weren't so hard to find, nor costing upwards of $100 a piece. Something has got to give or I will have nothing to keep me occupied while still having a good time working on.
  12. Brian and Mark, Thank you both for your input, I will try both ideas my brother wants a kid like the one for myself so I will use both techniques. Thanks a bunch, Josh
  13. Ok this made a friend of mine chuckle, but I have never painted a model white before, usually just a coat of white primer before a deep rich color was applied. I have a kit that I made decals for, and want to paint the kit white. I have heard things both good and bad about white paint and clear coats. So here is my question, what would be the proper clear coat to apply to white paint without having that awful "yellow haze" effect I have heard about? Any info on this good or bad would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Josh
  14. 1st off I am new to this site. 2nd that truck is very sharp looking. I ordered my kit last week. I have been building models since I was 13, mostly for friends or family but I recently started building outside of that circle. I am working on my own little ficticious department and have the kits laid out as I want themand started on the bodies I have to scratchbuild soon as I get pics I will post them. Quick question, can anyone help me with a few ideas, I grew up on a ALF Century Serires pumper with the flared cab...... I'd like to see if anyone had done any mods to the box kit from ERTL to make it look right.
