So I’ve been hearing rumors of Salvino’s JR models may be doing Chase Elliott’s 2021 Cup Series Championship Napa Camaro. Has anyone heard anything about this? If so, like any idea of when it may be coming? Thanks, Jed

That is one beautiful model of my favorite driver!

So I was just wondering if anyone had heard if any company or cottage industry company was doing a model of the current Cup cars? I’d really like to do a current Chevy Camaro, especially a Chase Elliott one! Any tips appreciated. Thanks, Jed

Hey, I’m kinda getting back into building models and had a question about building an ‘80s chassis and roll cage. I am working on an Monogram ‘85 Elliott Coors T-Bird and was needing some tips on the best way to paint a roll cage and chassis. Do you assemble the roll cage to the chassis and then paint it or paint the pieces separately and then try to glue them together? Any help appreciated, Jed

So I recently bought a vintage 1985 Coors NASCAR Thunderbird that I just noticed the body was slightly warped on. The body has a slight 'twist' and the right front and left rear fenders are higher that the other diagonal fenders. They are off around 1/8". What is the best way to correct this? I assume I'll need to gently heat the body and slowly twist the opposite direction. I don't want to ruin this body so any help appreciated. Thanks, Jed

Thank you for the help but I can’t see the pics. Can anyone else?

Hey, I’m getting started on Bill Elliott’s 1985 Coors T-Bird and would love any engine pics or any other reference photo’s y’all might know of. Please, any help on my quest for as accurate a model as is reasonably possible.

So I just bought a 1985 Coors Monogram T-Bird off the auction site and am excited to try building a kit that got me started in modeling so many years ago. I am looking to build a replica of either the Southern 500 car or the superspeedway car (two laps down at Dega!?!). Any tips on building the Monogram 'Birds? It's been a long while and I want to get this one as good as I can. I found an old thread on using the Monogram Pro Stock body for the superspeedway cars. Has anyone actually completed a car doing this? Seems kinda cool but would require finding another rare kit I suppose. Any tips on these classic Monogram kits appreciated. Thanks, Jed

I am looking for advice and was hoping some of you guys could help. My teenage son is really into the original Ford GT40’s and I was hoping we could build a model of one together, especially since he’s stuck at home during this quarantine. I’m having a hard time finding a Fujimi kit for less than $100 on the big auction site. Is this my best option? Anyone know of how else to come by one? Are decal sheets available for this kit? He would probably want to build the Ken Miles car if possible. He’s never built a model car but I’ve done some fairly extensive modeling, just been a while. Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks, Jed

So I have the basic shell of a spray booth built out of plywood. I need to paint/coat it so I can finish assembling it. What do you all recommend I paint or coat it with? I will likely be using it to spray typical model enamels and acrylics. I'll post pics once I figure out how to do that Thanks, Jed

BTW, where did you get those decals?!?

That car is awesome! Being an ol’ Georgia boy, I am going to have to build that car since they built them in Atlanta.

Thanks MarkJ! Love this car (though being a GM guy at my core, his Chevies were my favorites ?). It was really cool talking to him about the SEDCO Black Widow ‘57’s. Gotta do one of those soon.

Hello, I was really happy to see this site back up and running! I want to build a 1962 Pontiac stock car, maybe Fireball’s or Junior Johnson’s. 1)What kit would be best to start with? 2) Where are good sources for reference pics? 3) How would I need to go about building the roll cage? 4) What other modifications would need to be done for a accurate kit? Thanks for any help you might provide!

Hey, I’d really love to see this build as I was fortunate enough to meet Rex a couple years ago. Super nice guy!

So I recently purchased my first airbrush and am looking for tips to get it set up. I bought a Rigid pancake compressor with built in regulator from Home Depot and am looking to get set up. I’ve read where I may need a finer regulator and maybe a moisture trap? Will I also need a trap at the airbrush? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Jed

I was trying to up my detailing/realism game and was wondering if anyone knew of a simple way to tone down the gloss on paints, especially when airbrushing? I would like to be able to vary the gloss when building engines and chassis parts to help with realism. I notice many engines are as glossy as the car body. This is not the case in real life. It's not too hard to mix different ratios of flat black with gloss black but what about orange/blue/red engine blocks? I was worried that if I just sprayed Dullcote after painting then all of the components would be the same shade of "dull". Any thoughts or tips appreciated. Thanks, Jed

Suggestions on making first spray booth

Bill, those plans were very good. Thanks for the link. -
Ok, so after reading here and other places where I need to abandon my bathroom fan-powered plastic tub spray booth, I bought a Dayton squirrel cage blower and now would like some tips or plans on how to build a decent booth for cars. The fan is rated for around 400 cfm. I am pretty handy so I was thinking of building it out of plywood. What size opening would work for this size fan? Anyone have any links to good booth plans? What are the pro/cons of downdraft vs rear-mounted fans? Any help appreciated, Jed
