  1. Sorry about the mix-up gentlemen. I get all excited and forget who I'm talking to LOL! Kyle, what you are offering there sounds fantastic! That makes much more sense than the "cookie cutter" dioramas. If the prices are reasonable, I think you would sell a few of those. If something like that were to catch-on, we would probably see many more after-market companies jumping on the bandwagon and offer tools and 1/25th scale items for the garage. Wouls keep companies like Scale Equipment Lmt, Crbside dios, RnD Unique etc. thriving. I hope it works for you and good luck.
  2. I need a translator to read the above posts. Sounds more like da Brooklyn Boyz from Toidy-Toid street than Philly. See ya'll there... "The Doeblinator"...I love it!!!!! Great job Peterson. That ones gonna stick!
  3. Kyle, I appreciate what your trying to do but I have to express my reasons why you should build your own. If everyone starts purchasing their own dioramas then everyone will have the same diorama (similar) and we'll get bored of the "same-old-dio". The art in dio building is putting your own nich (sp?) into building a dio. Everyone has done a garage scene...Build something else!!!!!! In my opinion, the SMBC dios are boring and "too white" if you know what I mean. I see a dio and can tell right away that it is a SMBC dio. Be creative . Having dio's available to everyone will cause us to have a "out-of-box" diorama catagory. Just havin' fun. My Rant! What do YOU think!
  4. Sorry I missed the party Lyle. i saw Uncle Bobby's pictures and it looked like a good time. You and the boys have a great Holiday Season and hope you get all the kits you want (we sure don't NEED anymore) for Xmas. Mike Napoleon
  5. I built my booth right below my basement window. The window is split in half and I replaced the right half glass with a piece of plexiglass that I cut a hole into and fit my dryer vent perfectly.
  6. Room looks great Daryl and congrats on the move. BTW, you look great also, congrats on the weight loss...
  7. Hey, watch it Peterson! I resemble that remark! Welcome to the "no bull" forum Greg. All good people here, errrr...well mostly good people here! LOL. I have seen Greg's basement and his model room and I have not seen many collections as nice and organized. For those interested, Greg lives at 346 Main St., Croydon, PA (models in the upstairs spare room and basement)!!!!!!!!
  8. Moving? Good Luck Antonio. Where will you be residing in Florida? The boyz will miss your enthusiasm.
  9. Hey Antonio, Welcome, no B.S. on this board and a lot of fun. Missed you in Toledo! Mike
  10. Hey Jason, 'bout time you found this place. I, hopefully, will be relying on three other guys besides myself driving to Toledo so I should not need to resort to the methods you and Lyle so prescribe. errrr...Let me clarify, that is 3 guys and myself DRIVING to Toledo and doing nothing else...I'll shutup now!
  11. Turned out nice Dick. Is it Box Stock? See you in Toledo.
  12. I'll be there Friday night with a few other Philly Area Car Modelers. We will be looking for a party! Mike
  13. On the workbench for two years and will be for another two years I am sure... It has been a couple months since I posted pics of the garage diorama from Heck!!! I started it in 2004 as a place to collect pieces of diorama fodder and eventually turn it into a garage diorama. I doubt that it will ever be completed as I can still see the concrete floor. I bought a Fujimi garage kit for the dio parts and since I had the walls I set them up and covered one with balsa and the other with styrene concrete blocks from plastruct. Whenever I need a break from building a dio or model car, I will paint a few single dio pieces and place them in this garage. Like I said, that started 2 years ago and I have accumilated quite a bunch of stuff. There is a ton of scratchbuilt stuff including a hip gyrating (sp?) Elvis clock, benches, cabinets and various tools. Yes, even the feathers on the darts are scratchbuilt. As you can probably tell, I liked the tools from the Fujimi garage so much that I ended up purchasing a second kit and eventually added on a second half of the garage. Check out the photobucket album. The pics are not in chronological order but you should get the idea. Have fun with it... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v482/bonzomoretti/?start=0 The "It's Only A Hobby" Garage!
  14. You just did!!!! and I'll ditto it!!!! Oh ######!!
  15. Dang, only 4 days late....I need to stop in here more often. Thanks Tom, keep up the great work!
  16. Dave Pye of MCM dio column did an article on my drywall method about 2 years ago. Very easy and good results. Just a dental pick, or other scribe and a piece of drywall and you can have great looking brick walls.
  17. I'll be 43 NNL Toledo weekend!
  18. Nothing is worse than having started and almost completing a project when suddenly you see the same thing pictured in Model Cars Magazine or at a local model car show. It goes right back in the box and sent to model heaven.
  19. A cheap and easy way to make cones for your dio or display base. Next time you go to your doctors for a visit, notice the ear thingy's hanging on the wall. You know, those little cones he connects to his little flashlight to look inside your ear! Ask him for a few next time and turn them into little traffic cones by cutting off the bottom and adding a small piece of square styrene. Paint orange and "Voila"!!!! A few more of these and you'll have the state flowers of Ohio.
  20. I am building a small diorama where I am going to have one of those Gibson resin engines sitting on the floor. I am looking for some websites with pictures of Chrysler 383 B engines in various stages of weathering (new to abused) as the engine will be sitting on a pallet on the floor of a garage. I found a couple pics on Ebay but would like more research material. I had no such luck Googling and was hoping to get some help here. Thank you very much for your help.
  21. Needed a little break from diorama building and a quickie 1-2 week build resulted in this "Killer Milk Trike". Lots of dio fodder from the Warhammer Skeleton regiment kit... How about a little off the top?... Check it out here... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v482/bon...i/MonsterTrike/
