New Revell kit with powerslide decals. Modified the floor pans, exhaust, and added a few extra roll bars.

The body came in gold plating. I used kit decals. Pretty straight forward build.

Monogram kit built mostly box stock other than scratch built window net. Kit decals.

I did the scrapes with different shades of silver dry brushed. I had several photos of the real car and tried to replicate scrapes as close as I could.

Monogram kit with powerslide decals. Added trunk and rear window rails introduced halfway through 1991 season at restrictor plate tracks.

Smokey tried it a few years earlier on a Chevelle but NASCAR shot it down. Of course Petty was able to get away with a little more because of who he was.

Resin body on a stretched monogram frame. Ace decals.

They were more worried about the vinyl roof.

The king showed up for 68 speedweeks sporting a strange vinyl roof. While it served no real aerodynamic purpose, it did draw attention away from other aero changes to the car. AMT kit modified to a race car. Nose turned down, front bumper narrowed. Full belly pan underneath. Powerslide decals.

Yeah, I kinda messed up on the hood a little. It actually does fit a little better than the picture shows. Decals went on a lot easier than I thought they would.Thanks for the kind words.
