  1. Just a favorite parts box build from a different angle. and some shadow
  2. Very modest at best. We've seen your work, superb.
  3. AMT Willis Gasser and the Orange Crate both have early Olds V-8's
  4. Are you sure you want the oil pan painted ? I've only seen them used in their raw cast form. Are there any parts missing? Parts that aren't included in the two kits? Man you got a good start on this one. I really like it.
  5. Now if they'd only finish the series and give us a coupe. Although that 'up top' looks mighty tempting.
  6. http://local.yahoo.com/info-28582772-andy-s-hobby-headquarters-glendale there's a map in this one
  7. Andy's Hobby Headquarters‎ 15224 North 59th Avenue Glendale, AZ 85306 (602) 439-1456 http://andyshobbyhq.blogspot.com/
  8. Now if you smoosh em down you get "cross ram" : and again several choices: and heights :
  9. Several things come to mind here. First the term " High Rise Manifolds" I can think of three different styles that would fit this description. First would be the Ford 427 High Riser used in all kinds of Ford products from the '60's i.e. the big block Galaxies,427 cobras and the Thunderbolt Fairlanes, with the term "high rise referring ti the gradual increase in height of their manifolds, again i.e. stock, medium riser and high riser. The second high riser that came to mind was indeed the tunnel rams of the '70's. Lastly, anything high enough to stick out of the hood.
  10. I think so. That's why I posted it. It's in a part of the board that many people may not look at and I thought it was worthy of a look, especially after the negative postings about "nothing' being posted on the board lately. I think this is one of the hottest post to come down the pike in quite a while. I found it very interesting and informative as well as enjoyable to read.Very civel I might add, also no lame attempts at humor, just plain model talk in many interesting directions by many board members.
  11. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51477 and, you gotta love Dr. Cranky's You Tube bit : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uCDRZ2ahzfU
  12. The PL kits had a little hole on the bottom of the box so you could see what you were getting. They also did a run of their NASCARs in Petty Blue. I found it interesting at the time that many hobby shop owners didn't have a clue what was going on. So consequently I got all of them.
  13. Don't waste your time. They jumped the shark.
  14. The latest edition of The Rodders Journal has two articals on model cars. The longer of the two about Spindizzies, shows some serious work and great history.
  15. Erik, great build just the way it sits. I think that's the beauty of these kits. The doors / body's don't have to fit.
  16. I think the interesting thing about this kit and all the others in the series and heck, may as well throw in those beloved Revell Tri-Fives with all the opening doors hoods and trunk, is that if you display them with all of their features open and after all that's the draw of these kits isn't it ?It doesn't matter if the gaps are big or not. Why else would you buy a kit with all of these working features? And let's not forget many of them have posable steering and other working features. Now the part that comes to mind now is do you want to display them, with everything hanging out? I Have a 1:1 Charger that I show and I prefer to show it with the hood closed. Most people at shows have the hood up. I think the cars look better with the hoods closed. Have fun. It's (they're) a great kit, historic too.
  17. Did the new wheels come out yet ?
  18. This is the type thing that would be nice if you shared with the rest of us.Thus keeping up the post count.
