Hey guys, I am looking throughout the net for pics of cool custom 1:1 Western Stars and Superliners and I am not having much luck. Does anyone here have some pics they can post up for some build ideas? I have an idea for the Superliner, but IDK if I will do it that way or not. So if you have pics of 1:1s or models, please post them. Thanks Benjamin.

Hey, I havent forgotten my build, been busy taking care of my mother that's on bed rest for 6 more weeks due to a broken ankle. I have however started a new rig and a trailer for it too. Western Star and a Gravel Trailer.

How did you paint that frame and underbody like that????? That's what I'm wanting to do, but yours looks perfect. Please explain how you did that. -
Nick, nice lights. They look like aftermarket units, was it ordered without them originally? LOL, just joking. It's looking really good. I need to find a set or build a visor for my plow.

That's the look I was going for. 1970's cruiser. Nope, it's staying the way it sits. That'd be nice if I had the parts. Thanks, it's Testors Lacquer, I love this stuff. It might be an older one, but the interior leaves alot to be desired so the rear windows are getting either mirror (if I can do it) or black limo tint. -

Ok, here's mine. The only part of the body holding me up from finishing it is finding some graphics for it. -
Justin, nice looking Freight-shaker.

This is a neat twist on an old kit. I like it. Reminds me that I need to finish my twist on this kit. BTW, the grille in the kit was never done in 1:1. It is a phantom grille. -

Travis, this looks great. It was an awesome build. I like the pic without the tank on it, it would be awesome for a grain truck build in that pic. -
Anyone find anything yet?

LOL, I know how that goes. I'm getting better at bringing the dead ones back. Hmmm, I wonder why my truck doesnt have them, even though its a Silverado 4x4. Nice job on the exhaust. -
That may be my best bet. I could trim it length wise and cut it down height wise to make it more P/U appropriate. Now to find one. I've never seen the one frome that kit and I've never even seen the kit itself either.

Hey Nick, this build started out much like my build of my 1:1 truck, as a prebuilt or glue bomb. Good job on reviving a forgotten kit. I have seen one of these in person at a car show, sadly I didnt have the camera with me. One thing I noticed though, was that it had tow hooks, were they an option on the Sports as well as the work trucks? -
Nick, that is looking great. Did you make those decals? They look great as well. BTW, any updates on the lightbars?
-
Hey guys, I found the look I'm going for with the flatbed. Now I just need to find the lights. http://www.dougploss.com/misc/gmc2.JPG Nick, that is looking great man. Cant wait to see it done.

No thanks, I got a yard full of it as well.

Is the plow in the kit like the one on the box? If so I may be able to use the mounting system and and may be able to mosify the plow to work.

Hey there guys, some of you may know that I am building a snowplow and I found a board that would be perfect for a single vehicle diorama. I'm wanting to replicate it plowing a parking lot or sitting there in the snow with the plow up. I need to know how to replicate snow. Any ideas?
-
dw, the plow that he has is from the Jeep kit and is too narrow for what I'm doing. I'm wanting to replicate a 7'6"-8' plow. there's plenty of plows around me for refence, just need to get the plastic to build it. BTW, the Reo is coming along nicely.
-
Hey guys, got some work done on my plow truck. I detailed the grille up to be a basic GMC grille (Base model style) got the suspension set about where its going to be, I may lift it slightly. I got the bed made along with the rear drop down. I just need to get some supply's to build the plow and detail the bed. Here's some pics.

Ok, here are some pics of where I'm at with this so far. It started as a junk cab the I got with a box of parts and a frame. I painted the cab Chevrolet Orange Engine Paint. I'm using an original 1982 4x4 Stepside Chevy by MPC as a donor for the front axle and for some other various parts such as the wheels. I am on the search for some old school tires for it, like you would see in the 80's on 4x4's. I found 2 Firestones from the MK 79 F350 and would love a full set (PM me if anyone has a set they can part with.) This truck will have the beacon light on top and will have a diamond tread flatbed. That's all I've got so far, hopefully more updates soon.

Boy, everybody's builds are looking great. I would work on mine, but I dont have the parts I need yet, so I'm changing my entry. Highway, can you switch me from my Pete 359, to a 1984 GMC 1/2 ton Snowplow?

Hey guys, I am building a Plow truck, and I need to build the blade and mounting system for it. I remember seeing a tutorial for this on the net somewhere, but I'll be darned if I cant find it now. Does anybody out there have a tutorial for this? Thanks Benjamin.

78 Dodge "Evilram" WIP...updated 01/19/11
BigBlockLyle replied to 1320wayne's topic in WIP: Model Cars
DWC43, my father and I bought a 1979 Dodge Longbed D100 Custom Adventurer from the original owner back in the mid 90's and it had the tall hood (as I like to call it) that came on the 79-93 trucks. It had never been wrecked, just repainted when the lady's husband lost his mind and painted it Baby Blue with house paint with a brush and roller. Every 1979 Dodge I have seen, has the tall hood. 1320, I have a 1978 Lil Red Express hood if you would like it. I am trying to find the correct 1979 hood for my project.
