  1. Dirk, I like this idea. I think I may be able to help on the paint issue. Not all of the old Army jeeps were flat in color, some of them had just a hint of a shine to them. I think you could get away with using a gloss green that is the right shade, and spray a semigloss clearcoat over top of it. I think it should work out for you.

  2. Okay guys, the HEMI powered rat rod is an idea that I got when I thought about the later years in the rat rod popularity(I guess that's the word for it). I thought that hey, some kid might have a HEMI in the garage from one of his dad's wrecked high school rides. Or if you want to, you could say it's a custom flathead.

  3. Hey guys, I haven't posted any of my art on here yet, so thought I might as well show you one of my drawings. I drew this during class when we were watching a boring movie. It's an around 1934 Ford pickup with a HEMI. It has been chopped, channeled, and the frame has been Z'ed. I can't figure out what wheels to put on or what injector hat to use, so ideas are welcome. This is my first rat rod, so I plan on building it once I get everything needed to do it. Well, here it is, comments are welcome/appreciated.

  4. WOW, I'm loving this. Can I suggest Candy Lime Green as a color? I like these older wagons, reminds me of Chop, Cut, Rebuild on the Speed channel. BTW, if you have any of those subs lying around, I could use 2 of 'em for my 1976 Eckler Corvette.

  5. Brent, everytime I see this sprayer, I am just in awe. It looks so much like the ones that run around here in Illinois in the spring and summer. Now I just need to find an International semi and a big bag of assorted sheets and sizes of styrene to build a lime and pot-ash spreader from where my dad works. Great job Brent. BTW, now you just need a diorama for it. LOL

  6. Well, I think I'll post one of my favorite builds that I have done as of yet. It is the Monogram 1957 Chevy Bel Air 1/12 from 1995. I bought it at an auction for $8 still in the box. I built it as a street machine in a classic way. I have added screens to the velocity stacks, Purple Hornies to the exhaust, blue dots to the tailights, and custom plates. It is painted Testors Transparent Candy Apple Red over a white base. This is my first 1/12 and I think I did a fair job on it for my first one. Well, what does everyone think of it?

  7. Hey there guys, I have a MPC Dodge 4x4 kit and I am trying to build it as my dad's old 1979 2wd D-100 as a gift. Well, I remember that somebody was making this conversion, but they went under awhile ago. So, I am wondering, does anybody have the conversion pieces and if they would be willing to sell or trade them to me? I have tried ebay with no luck on finding it, I hope somebody on here can help me out.
