I cleaned up my old Acar today that Bill gave to me as a model Kit for my Birthday the same year I built my Freightliner a couple years ago he gave me some of his build truck models when he was a kid. Bill built this Acar around 1974 The headache rack and winch where scratch build. The headache rack was made from tree styrene parts some parts both models are missing parts and cannot be found. These trucks are so much like my 1.1 truck that when I was restoring my real truck with my dad it reminded me of the model. Enjoy the pics I have also included pictures of my 1.1 Autocar

My brother "Bill Drennen" taught me at a early age about how to build with out glue globs and clean building. One day I will post some of his early builds that he gave me the talent he has unbelievable I can never build like him I'm a old box stocker if you ever bought one of his resin conversion you know what I'm talking about

Thanks I'm surprised it has lasted this long also the chrome in spots are disappearing but I don't want to replace any parts it wouldn't be the same truck. When I get my other three trucks cleaned and fixed I will post them.

Nice looking truck. I looked at the instructions and that's the way they show to put the cab release handles you did a great job on it.

Thanks, I have 3 more that I built when I was around 17yrs if you guys don't mine I will clean them up and post them. The rest of them were destroyed or lost still have a couple needs rebuilt

I built this truck when I was 16 I bought it with the money I got from mowing my Grand Parents lawn I haven't touched it till now I cleaned it and replace the missing parts and reposition the mirrors and turn signals the paint is Testors Light Blue and White with White & Black pin stripping. Hope you enjoy the pics I'm looking forward to the AMT Re-release of this beautiful kit Lee

Gino your Pete looks great I just found it. I used Sweet Cream krylon to paint that 1/32 looks almost like a match to your almond I hope to get that Pete done and move on to the next project
