  1. Well life just gets in the way from time to time. I also putting together a life size model I can drive...... I had to fix a couple spots today I wasn't happy with so another coat of primer tomorrow
  2. OK guys, I had my first son so I hadn't been able to do much. I have gotten the body in its 2nd coat of primer and looking forward to getting some color on this bad boy in the next day or two.
  3. just a quick update. I have not had a lot of time to work on this model much with work and expecting my first kid soon. But I went around the doors, headlight with the back of an #11 blade and sanded most all of the bad spots that I could see and got a good coat of primer on it. I'll try to get a few pictures this weekend while I got some time to work on it.
  4. thank you for posting some chassis shots it will help me during my build up.
  5. Thank you Jordan! I did not find that page in my searching.... Hawk I also ordered a back issue for the mag you have in your sig.
  6. Hawk thanks for posting the pics. Hope mine comes out half as nice. I would like to see a couple pictures of the chassis and a few more of the engine if you don't mind. This is the first big scale model since I was a little kid, I'm not trying to go crazy on it just adding a few details here and there. Did you use the kit tires with the rallye wheels from the Camaro? I am not impressed with the fitment of the grille at all that is why I ask about the photo etched parts. Also I would like some different valve covers (I looked at the TDR stuff but it looked as if on the valve covers you had to buy all of them not just one set) Anyone know how i can get in touch with TDR by Phone or Email? thanks again for the pointers
  7. do any of you guys know where I can find 1/12 scale detail stuff? Valve Covers, Photo Etched parts and the like? I've only been able to find one photo etched set online.
  8. Hey guys I just picked up the 1/12 '67 Corvette 427 Coupe. I was hoping I could get some pictures of some that are complete. Also any tips that would help with the build. I searched the forum but didn't come up with much of anything
  9. The pic above shows a 98 and up s10 engine bay.
  10. I primed the interior flat black and put a couple coats of afrika mustard over it. I had bad lighting..... The body will be emerald green.
  11. Started this just after Xmas. What do you think so far???
  12. I lurk here a lot but don't post much. here is one I have been just fiddle farting around with for the last couple months. sorry for the phone pics Chevy truck: my first try at wiring a motor its a R&M dizzy
  13. That is what I had been thinking, but I thought you guys might have something else. I tried finding some threads on these kits and haven't had any luck........ I put one together a long time ago and thought it went together real well right out of the box. Does anyone have any build pics out there?
  14. thanks again guys. Is there anybody that can help me with my problem with wheels?
  15. is that the one with the working windows that I seen on youtube or somewhere? If so you are the man!!!! The pics will help alot, I won't go that far but I might add a few of those hoses and lines. Do you have any pointers for me to help make the dizzy and wires look alittle better when I did my first one I followed the instructions but the plug ends just don't look right.......?
  16. that is what I was looking for. Does that line from the middle carb attach to the manifold? Thanks
  17. I have done my share models over my years (26) but they all have been box stock and after lurking around here (I want more!) I just picked up a 60 Impala hardtop the I want to build. Now I have a couple of questions. I bought some pegius wire wheels to go on the car but the wheels I got look like they use the metal rod for mounting and the wheels in the kit just snap inplace. How do you guys go about mounting them? Next I bought a DetailMasters Dizzy and wires. ( I have only done one before a few weeks ago and it turned out fair, but that was on the newest merc kit) the Impala has the 409 in it and I'm not sure where to drill the holes for the plug wires. keep in mind I have limited tools, and Im working on this problem....... So I was hoping for so pointers and pics on how to do some of this stuff Thanks,
  18. Guy's, I jst got in my dizzy from Detail Master and I need some tips on how to get this thing together with out making a mess. I have already cut my plug wires to length and made my plug boots and attached them to the engine. Thanks for any help.
  19. Here is the start of my 49 Merc. It was sprayed with gray primer then a couple of coats of testors stop light red, I used in my airbrush. and as you can tell its going to have white & Red interior. I'm still new to all the detailing so give me some slack. Please give me a few comments good or bad. The pics are bad I used my phone, I'll used the good camra over the weekend and get some better pics. a little over spray for detail just some flat red. I'm thinking about clearing over it for some shine or should I just leave it be?
