  1. They do look like Ground Control. I actually copied the color scheme of Skunk2 coil overs. I liked the gold accent on the strut.
  2. Thanks. I used some clear Tamiya orange and a little blue to make it look heat soaked.
  3. Thank you.
  4. Thank you for the tip. I did notice the whole glass piece did not want to fit in correctly. I was debating cutting them but now I definitely will. Thanks again!!
  5. Thanks. It is Tamiya "Bright Red"
  6. coilover springs....
  7. Engine pics...
  8. Not yet, but that's what I'm going for.
  9. Yes the paint laid down nice. I'm letting it sit a while longer before the sand and polish.
  10. Some more pictures further along with the body mocked up.
  11. Working on this Honda Civic Si kit from Revell. I am going to be adding a carbon fiber hood and a few other details. Let me know what you guys think.
  12. Yea, unfortunately its basically the body and interior. The chassis is just flat with no details. I still think it will be fun for a quick build. I wish there was one with an engine and chassis detail.
  13. Thank You. I'm looking forward to starting this one. Should be fun.
  14. My Pantera just came in the mail yesterday. I saw this kit and thought it would be a cool build. Thinking of different wheels. Not sure yet. I haven't decided on the color.
  15. I thought this would be a cool thread to start. I am always curious to see what everyone's work space looks like. I see the cars with the work station in the background and think "wow this guy has a cool workbench with all the paints and tools lined up in order. I would like to get some ideas for my own work area and would love to see what everybody has going on.
  16. Super clean build. I like it.
  17. Wow!! your right. I never though about that. Thanks for giving me more work. Just kidding. I'm glad you pointed that out. I will work on that and update some photos.
  18. Looks great so far. I love this kit by the way. I did one a while back in flat black. Looked pretty cool. The masking is a little tricky but taking the time will really make it stand out. I just bought a few more of these kits on ebay. I am going to do one in Tamiya metallic green and one in Tamiya orange. I like all the crazy colors the 911's used to have.
  19. Very true... I have been fighting this thing hood for hours. There is one very small blemish that will not go away. I cant figure out what it is. I'm going to wet sand and clear and hopefully most of it will be gone.
  20. So basically I am building the Revell Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 model in the conservative version which Revell does not make. I am trying to finish by Christmas to give to my dad. He bought this car in 1985 and loved it. He had it for almost 20 years and really took care of it. When I saw the Revell kit come out I thought it would be really cool to recreate it. It wont be an exact but pretty close. I have pretty much gotten the hood figured out by removing the scoop that the 442 came with. My next challenge is going to be the vinyl roof that his had. Not sure how I am going to tackle that one. I'm thinking of using the masking tape method and painting it blue. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have a few pictures of the hood sprayed last night and some engine pictures.
  21. I will get something up shortly. Give you guys a better idea.
  22. Had to resize pics. Here are a few more.
  23. So I have been working on this Olds Cutlass. I have gotten rid of the hood scoop because I don't want to build the 442 version. Almost got it looking good. Here are some pics before paint and more sanding required. Just wanted to see what you guys thought. I filled the back of the hood up with super glue and baking soda and then sanded and filled over and over using Tamiya filler. I have been building a while and just never tried the Tamiya paints, fillers, and glues. Really good stuff. I have built their kits before.. go figure. Hope these pics come out ok. This is my first post on here. Thanks for looking.
