Revell Bronco Baja Kit
Hawk5.0 replied to Hawk5.0's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The parts came in from Fireball and they are really nice. Here is the picture of the wheels. I wanted to get a more realistic beadlock look so I drilled out the fake bolts and am going to use some protech bolts to put in. Started on the dash as well. I used a pipe and trimmed it down to make the bezel. I will cut out a clear sheet to make the glass protion and then put the speedo decal in. I also decided I wanted black valve covers for the engine. -

Yes, I just received a PayPal notification that the parts have been sent. I am looking forward to getting them. I will get some updated pics when the build starts to come along. -

That is what I am hearing. I guess I am just getting the itch and wanting to hurry up and get these parts on the bronco. -

I started with the Baja kit. It came with both bodies. The one with the flares and the one without. I chose to use the one without because I wanted to do the flares from Fireball. I ordered a bunch of stuff from Fireball but have been waiting over a month for it. Hopefully I will eventually get them. He replied to my email and said they had a cold front come through so that has delayed my order. With all the positive reviews from other folks on here I am optomistic. -

That looks good. You should finish her up. What did you use to make the back glass and tailgate work? I found a really small bracket off the back of a picture frame. Seems to be working for me so far. Still mocking it up. -

Thank you. More to come... -
Started this nice kit after reading such good things about it. So far its been a fun kit to build. Waiting on some parts to come in but here is the start of my build. Going to go with Gravity colors Elenor Pepper Gray with the black hood and top. Took the top half of the engine from the Mustang drag car. Will have some more progress pictures as I move along with the build. Thanks for looking.

I love it. Really coming along nice. Your interior work is on point.

Something I did not think about is that wood is actually yellow so when starting your base should be yellow. I didn't have that issue because the truck I did was yellow. I started with just filling in the bed with brown Sharpie but did not like the texture because that took away from the plastic bed lines. After trying a few different techniques I found that using the Q-tip worked the best. You have to work really quick because the Sharpie dries fast. I basically did small sections at a time while the Sharpie was wet coloring darker and lighter in each section then blending with the Q-tip. I will try and get some pictures of more detail with the step by step technique. Its hard to explain.

Thanks Tony. I got the idea from one of the members here and used a brown Sharpie and blended with a Q-tip. I really like the way the bed turned out.

Ok guys. I know everyone dislikes the wheels but here is the basically finished product. I just need to put a final polish on the body and install rear tail lights and license plate.

Nothing wrong with red. I like the bed cover.

I guess I just thought the wheels were different. I can appreciate the comments. Here are a few more pics of the progress.

I have been working on this Ford for a while and getting close to completion. I wanted a modern look so I did a slight drop on the suspension and put on some 19" wheels. I had some smaller wheels to start but decided I liked the look of the 19". Other than that the kit is pretty much stock. Here are some pictures of the progress. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm hoping to have this one done by the end of the month.

Yes. I used to have a 99 red Si as well. I bought it when they first came out and they were almost impossible to get when they first launched. The VTEC and the 8,000+ redline made them pretty fun.

It is the scale motorsport carbon fiber. I am going to put on a coat of clear once done in the dehydrator.

Images would not load. Here we go. What do you guys think. My first time using this. It took a couple tries but I think it came out pretty good.

Snowed in...LOL... I'm in Texas. It was 89 degrees yesterday.
