  6. Hi Guys Just wanted to give a shout to Brendan Howden, some of you may have seen a post where I had brought a C5R Vette and ended up with 3 front tires and 1 rear, Brendan Kindly offered to send me a tire, the envelope arrived yesterday and inside I find 4 tires and wheels already painted which was a welcomed surprise, thanks again Brendan you have been a great help Regards Mal
  7. Hi Guys Mal here I live waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down in the south in a little place called Australia, you may have herd of it. I have been building models for years to many to remember I am 42 years young, I am married with two kids and two dogs, I am also a motor sports fan although I must admit F1 isn't high on a list of things to do even with a race around the corner Mal
  8. Hi Dug The tires are an easy fix, just take some rough sand paper around 120 or 100 grit and sand the surface that comes in contact with the road, this will illuminate the mold line and also give a used look to the tire surface Mal
  9. Dug If what I learn't here in Australia at school in maths is right that is a 21 hour build, I know I can't even put together anything close to most on this board in a year, I would imagine working door locks and windows, ( Bill Geary stand up and take a bow) would take me a life time, 21 hours isn't very long to build a model be nice to yourself Regards Mal
  10. No I was looking at the things to the outside sitting between the end ot the wing and the rear quarter panel Mal
  11. Hi Ismeal In The very first mock up pic right at the start of the post there appears to be some sort of support under the rear wing other than the ones that are suppose to be there, just wondering if they are part of the kit or is something you made ???? Mal
  12. You forgot one Greg G Day LOL Welcome aboard the board timc Mal
  13. Something you guys wouldn't be aware of the F1 supremos at the track (Bernie wasn't there) decided to cut the V8 supercar race 2 laps Short because the F1 race was getting close to a start, the F1 race started exactly an hour and a 1/2 later, not sure what the lack of time was all about. I received an email form a disgruntled friend a little while after the Sebring and F1 race finished, there is no mistake on what he thought.. 22 starters 5 don't get thru the first lap 8 finish $300 a ticket Sorry Mr Ecclestone...... explain to me again why it is such a great thing 12 hour sports car race at Sebring... winning margin is 12 seconds. I know which one I like watching I sat here for hours watching the lap charts from Sebring.... but I'm a bit of a tragic aren't I? F1 is getting better but it still has a way to go to match other forms of racing (IMHO) Regards Mal
  14. Larry Morgan Castrol Super clean Olds There might have been a Jegs Olds but I am not sure
  15. Hi Guys I live in Melbourne about a 45 minute drive from the track I have been to practice once, the results of todays race are normal for the first race of the season, the cars aren't sorted so of course they are going to breakdown, it costs way more to put the race on than Melbourne makes from it, Bernie keeps saying Melbourne needs to make it a night race or we are going to lose it , I say if Bernie wants to take it let him go ahead, I may be bias to this being an Aussie but we have the best car racing series in the world already here, I know a lot of people that go to the F1 race just to see the V8 supercars race, so my evil plan is for Bernie to take his race to Russia or wherever else in the world he wants and Melbourne can use the track to put on a V8 supercar race for a 1/4 of the cost and have twice the amount of people go to see it. There I feel better I have told the world what I want Bernie if you are out there PM me and let me know what you think LOL Regards Mal

  22. Hi Guys Great work Matt, I have meet Charles as well I was on holidays in America and was staying with a friend that works for Lonestar Racing in Tyler Texas, one night he said jump in the car I want to show you something, he took me to Harwood fiberglass and there in the car park is Charles Carpenter rebuilding a lenco in the back of his trailer, he was busy so I just stood and watched, my friend knew him and started chatting to him and called me into the trailer Charles took about half an hour out from what he was doing to talk to me and show me his car, through him I meet Wally Bell, Robbie Vandergriff (soft seal 57) Jeff Littleton, Kenny Bernstein and just about every pro mod driver at the superchevy Sunday the following weekend, truly a Gentlemen Regards Mal
  23. Hi Guys Well I may just be about to become the envy of you all, I am a MR Mum (MOM to you guys in the states), I have a to do list on the refrigerator, my wife works for Caterpillar here in Melbourne Australia and I stay home to take care of the house the kids 12 and 8 and my lovely wife, I even manage to squeeze in the odd model here and there, I have just recently left my job, my wife got a promotion and has to travel more, so I am currently looking for something during school hours, I am currently doing a short course in automotive trimming (upholstery) Mal
  24. Hi Guys The reason Biante don't make a 1:24th V8 Supercar is they know someone will take a mold off it and produce a body, a number of years ago there were some amt snaptite kits and there was one called Slammer I think, I did see someone try to turn it into a ford V8 supercar it was remarkably close to start off with, not sure if he ever got it done, I agree with Paul if anyone is going to do it it will be Tamiya, but unfortunately V8 supercars is money driven and becoming more so by the day and i think the Licensing fee asked by V8 supercars might just put it out of reach Regards Mal
  25. Hi Guys I have one of these resin T/F hydros that come out of the old molds I emailed and emailed Chuck ( Altered states models) and begged him to pop one more out for me and had just about given up when one day to my surprise one just turned up in the mail here in Australia, Chuck is a great guy and wrote me a note to say that the mold was just about at the end of it's day and it wasn't the best one that had come out of the mold, it's great to see he is going to re re release it cause it is truly a unique subject, just don't forget the engine goes in backwards and the injector scoop face forwards Regards Mal
