Wonderful! The optional on the 1:1 car really are well represented.

Mine arrived this morning in Little Rock Arkansas. Liking that it is arriving sooner!
Looking forward to digging in.

Ok, thanks. Always like the big diameter headlights.
-
Good looking!
Liking the red paint and the nice carbs.
-
Liking what appears to be very large diameter headlights. May I ask what source?
Thanks!

Thought I knew about most of the kits out there and was I ever wrong.
This is very cool ! Great job and clear pics.
Wondering when the kit was released and approximate price when new.
Glass case for this monster.

Hi Robert!
They come from Revell's Sidewinder Dodge Concept Truck kit. I'm told they are the same size as the Prowler's rolling stock, but the flame thread pattern is unique to this kit. The real concept truck had those, so they replicated them in the kit. That kit also has a Viper engine, and a very detailed custom frame and suspensions, and a cool interior. So, a trove of parts perfect for mashups!

Good kit! I built it long ago. The 8 lug wheels are crisp and accurate and the Tri Power carbs are realistic. Of all the full size Pontiac models that have the 421 engine, this one is the only one with the emblems provided.
People will correctly point out that the body is too long and actually a reworked Bonneville body but we are lucky to have this kit available.

Love the big cars from the 60's. You nailed it! Checking out that it has the Road Wheel option.

I built my SMER Alfetta in the 90's and it is one of my favorite modelcars. Problem though is the very, very faint engraving on the nose. I didn't know what to do to try to make the grill at least look like a grill so it was simply sprayed red like the rest of the car. If they only provided a grill !

Did it make you nervous with the cop riding along? When I took my road test I had to drive around the courthouse. The cort house was used in all three walking tall movies. You can see it on YouTube..I was so excited that I don't think I was too nervous. All I had to do was drive around the block and parallel park.

A ´63 Pontiac would certainly make my day
But, as expressed before, my wish would be a SD Catalina, stock plus parts and decals for proper race cars, both drag and NASCAR
With info in the instruction sheet how and where to drill a Swiss cheese
(suppose the NASCAR cars were not as much worked on in this aspect for strength reasons ?).You are 100% right. A Swiss cheese 421 Super Duty drag car with directions for drilling or even already drilled! Gotta have the famous 421 emblems on the side of the front fenders already molded in or at least a decal.

Hey Tim, btw, Model Car Garage does a photo etch set that includes the 421 front fender emblems correct for 62-64 full size Pontiac's. Problem is that the emblems need to be side specific and you only get 2 of the passenger side of the car. i don't know what to do.

Thanks, Tim. Good info. I'm always a Pontiac fan.

OMG, A Palmer!
Even as little kids in the 50's, we all knew that they were horrible. It's really fun to see this. Lucky you to find one. They are like an old Cult movie.
Thanks for posting!

In 1965 I learned to drive in a 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix with an automatic transmission. Took the driver's license test in it too with the cop riding.

64 Grand Prix here too! I was 13 and had fits for the new GTO. Parents left me at home and told they were going to the Pontiac dealer for a new car. I told them to get a GTO. Mom called later and said they got a new Pontiac. I asked if it was a GTO and she no as I had a little sisteter and they neded a bigger car. She said they got a GP! I was pumped. I said does it have a 421? She said "What's a 421?"
Never saw the window sticker and did not see a 421 emblem on the side of the front fenders. It was pretty fast with whateever it had under the hood.
I had started the AMT model but it was lost along the way.

A 62 and a 63 together is the deal.
Like these two monsters!
421 cubic inches is always the best.

Thanks for the paint and color info.
By the way, Model Car Garage has a photo etch set for it. I was so excited to get it because after all these decades, it includes the correct 421 fender emblems. Was disappointed to find that they only reproduced the passenger side. You get 2 passenger side. The actual emblems are side specific. I contacted them year ago and they didn't offer a correction.
When I build my 62 Super 421 Super Duty I'll put the one correct one on and just deal with it
Hope this info is helpful
