  1. Great detail on that toploader
  2. meep meep
  3. Beautiful build. The component packaging on these is wonderful. Does the kit have the piping for the DI setup? The fuel pump is on the LH side but no injection tubing is shown
  4. Looking terrific Don't feel too bad about the Coyote V8. In real life they need some serious strut tower surgery (as in removing them) to fit
  5. Thanks again chaps
  6. Fair enough. Best part being... you have a plan! The setup in the picture looks cool, although some intercooling might help There's a slick setup with 6 carbs out there...
  7. I will throw a (sort of) spanner in the works here... with a suggestion You could build a log style intake manifold. Something like this, with slightly longer runners to clear the exhaust. The example is for a Toyota 2JZ engine
  8. Beautiful model. Love the colour and how the bullet mirrors are both the correct shape and perfectly fitted
  9. Looks nicely molded. Also different from Revell's 68 GT, which is the one I'm doing Interestingly, both have the same mold line in the C-Pillar, which is a PITA to remove
  10. Turning alright I hear you with the shaking hands. Have you tried using a toothpick? I did over the weekend for some tie-rods and worked a charm. Not so much for an air cleaner rubber Are you using enamel or acrylic paints there?
  11. Some (very slow) progress. Need to get a lamp to work at night Floorpan is nearly there, need to paint the hand brake lines... and maybe notch the frame rails (see below) Front X-member And with the engine almost there, did a quick test to see where the headers would end and... disaster. There's interference between the rails and the front pipes I could force it in place, risking breaking something; notch/grind the rails or remove the headers and use the stock manifolds
  12. Those bars to stiffen the engine bay look terrific. However... where are the strut towers? Did you delete them?
  13. More reference pics Were the OEM shocks really white back then?
  14. Cool. This link has more detailed pictures of the engine http://fabwheelsdigest.blogspot.com/2013/12/ford-1st-generation-bronco-u13-roadster.html
  15. Thanks Tim. Dash applique and dash bright work look terrific
  16. Some pics of the primed parts. I used Tamiya VOC based one. Nice primer, however the amount of paint the cap supplies is too much. Ran into some issues, mostly bubbles, due to a slow hand Using these as reference: http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-ford-mustang-6/ http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-ford-mustang-6/ http://bringatrailer.com/2014/10/24/90-original-j-code-1968-ford-mustang-gt-fastback/ Acrylic paints seem to need a (very) good mix before brushing. Painting the engine the first time was a huge let down. The coat I applied over the weekend ended nice and deep (although a bit rough)
  17. Will start documenting this here, pics will be coming tonight This is my first build in 20+ years. Basically starting from scratch: have had to buy everything. The car is a Christmas gift from my wife The kit itself is relatively simple, of good quality and has a bunch of bonus parts. Looking at the box art it left me a bit cold, but then I thought about a movie car, opened the box and... there's a set of Torq-Thrusts and a blanked grille... getting somewhere with this! So the idea is to build a Bullit, with some twists: 1) The back panel will be flat black; 2) Will be using the Cobra Jet bonnet, air filter assy (still TBD) & headers 3) Mirrors will be bullet type, which will need to be sourced Paints are acrylic and with plenty of brushing
  18. Nice work. A couple of questions: did you foil the dash? & what colour did you use for the fuel tank? Cheers
  19. Thanks everyone!
  20. G'Day chaps, All the way from Straya's most livable city. Been lurking the forum for the past 2 years. Lots of cool stuff - some of the paint jobs here are up there with the pros Starting this hobby almost from scratch. Some of my childhood builds were terrible. It is amazing the amount of stuff currently available Currently building a Revell 68 2 n 1 Mustang GT and already pleasantly surprised to find the bits for a Bullit build were there! Cheers
