Thanks Dave, there was a fitment issue with the rear wheel wells but I was glad I got it to fit...lol
-
It was the AMT kit, The front fenders were separate. Thanks and yes it took a lot of trial and misses to finally get it right. If I could only keep the dust off, I wouldn't have to spend so much time sanding them out. lol

I built this monster 8 years ago. I had to take the dust off it and give it a polish. Its no were near what I would do with it today, knowing what I know now. I wouldn't mind building another one if they weren't selling for 300.00 or so. I think I paid close to that then. It was a bidding war on E-Bay....It just about fit in my spray booth

That is one hell of a build. Great work and thanks for the tips. Looking forward to hearing more.

Thanks Mike, I think it was Boyd Enamel Sunburst 52708. I had 2 more bottles and it looks the same.

Thanks guys, Got the year wrong. I threw the box out.

Thanks Dave, I'm sure I will.

I used 3 different kits to try something different. Its not 100% but I gave it a shot. Hemi engine in Pontiac, LOL why not. Cutting the frame and changing the rear end was a first for me. Not bad for the 1st time.

This is a first attempt to modify a box build. It's not perfect but I was happy considering it was trial and error.

Thanks Mike

I'm not too good with figuring things like that out. I will try this weekend and let you know.

I Really Like Like This Hobby,,,,, But
modelmatt replied to Fortheloveofgassers's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I know the feeling, there is nothing worse than spending all that time on the body and the last step makes you start over. I bought a 73 Corvette kit that took forever to find. I must have used the wrong primer because when I painted the body it came out all webbed. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I sanded it all down again, used a different primer and then had fish eye. At this point I was ready to crush the body. I let it sit for about a week until I cooled off and then got it right. So the moral of the story is not to give up, you can always correct a problem when it happens. Good luck with the build.- 39 replies
