  1. Nice! One of the very few (less than a handful) 4 door cars I'd even consider. Good job on all! Second generation and current one are my favorites. Thanks, Ismael
  2. Hello, Just having some fun with this. Nothing serious. Not fixed in place yet but you get the idea. Mirror imaging wire was a fun exercise. But, La Piece de Resistance so far! Added passenger grab bar, key cylinder on the steering column, turn signal lever, manual shifter, power windows controls (below shifter), classis 6x9 speakers and floor mats made out of sand paper. Hand painting the 1/32 dash was another fun exercise. However, not everything is going smooth. Upon inspection I found the glass has some rather serious damage. Will try to save it but it will be an uphill battle. Thanks, Ismael
  3. Lovely '51!
  4. Nice '60!
  5. Thank you all for stopping by and for your nice comments! Really appreciate it. Thanks, Ismael
  6. Hello, Ready for (hopefully) last coat of primer. Wait, what happened to the chassis mounting tabs on the sides of the body? Oh, that's why. Yeah, those tacky sidepipes are horrible. Thanks, Ismael
  7. Hello, Pre-shading Base color done. Ready for detail painting, decals and eventual weathering. Thanks, Ismael
  8. WOW! What a stunning execution! Beautiful! Thanks, Ismael
  9. Sinister and cool at the same time. Love the wheels.
  10. Nice job! I've never been much into customs but this is very nice. After watching the video, WOW! Nothing but respect and admiration.
  11. Cool! Probably my all time favorite Viper, together with the last gen. If I ever build another Viper it will be this one: '96 GTS coupe, blue with white stripes.
  12. Very nice! Those plug wires look fantastic. Thanks, Ismael
  13. Beautiful job! Love the engine and chassis details but the working license plate hinge / gas filler takes the cake! Thanks, Ismael
  14. Hello, Sometimes in life, weird things cross your path and you take an unplanned detour. So I was browsing thru boxes of old stuff and found lots of old models, parts, stalled projects and more from my youth. Some of those are well over 40 years old! I'll take some pics and provide longer explanations on some of those later. But this one, somehow jumped out of the box into the workbench! It's been in that box for probably over 30 years! It's a 1978 Monogram Snap-Tite Pontiac Trans Am. It was loose but I was able to find all the parts but the decals and box, which I don't recall ever existing. The catch? This model is 1/32 scale! You may not know it but as a kid and teenager, I was a huge Trans Am lover as well as Corvettes. This is a very simple and rather crude kit with less than 20 parts. I want to see if I can do a simple project. I said simple, not necessarily quick. As much as I love it, I'll resist the urge to make this a Bandit. Worked some mold lines, a light sanding (it seems it had a very light coat of red spray can paint) and first coat of primer reveals some mold lines that still need attention. Thanks, Ismael
  15. Hello, Thanks to a fellow forum member I was able to get another louvered roof! Wohoo! THANK YOU! The original roof was filled with putty probably over 30 years ago. I salvaged it and made a solid roof so I'll have 2 roofs for the car. Thanks, Ismael
  16. Hello Jeff, So sorry I missed these questions before. Better late than never The CORVETTE script on the valve covers were dry brushed with aluminum paint. For the header wrap I used medical tape found in first aid kits. Thank you for the nice comments and again sorry it took so long to reply. Thanks, Ismael
  17. Hello, Finished and posted Under Glass here: Thank you for accompanying me in this journey! Thanks, Ismael
  18. Hello, Wow, this project took me 9 years to complete. Good thing it was a "simple one". So my 2012 Grand Sport is finally done. You can check the progress thread here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/96016-2012-corvette-grand-sport-conversion/ Chevrolet launched the Grand Sport version of the C6 Corvette in 2010 in both coupe and convertible. It features the wider body cues of the Z06, upgraded brakes, suspension and other performance oriented features. The powerplant was the LS3 (6.2L) engine. Visually, the Grand Sport features unique fenders. I started this conversion years ago. A lot of work went into this one. Word of advise: I used a snap kit as a starting point thinking it would be easier, but no it is not. I ran into all the traps that entailed. Using a full kit would have probably been a better choice. What makes this a 2012? The color is Carlisle Blue which is a 2012-only color offered in the Corvette. This car represents the following: 2012 Corvette Z16 Grand Sport Coupe GLF Carlisle Blue exterior color Grand Sport specific 6 speed transmission 3LT Cashmere interior Options: Z15 - Heritage package silver fender hash marks J55 - Cross drilled rotors (Standard on Grand Sport) BA5 - Black fender badges Grand Sport (replacing standard chrome badges) H33 - Cyber Gray Metallic Headlamp Override (headlights different color than body) J6F - Red Calipers Personal touches: Rear spoiler painted body color C7 Z06 wheels Scratchbuilt brakes (rotors and calipers) Puerto Rico license plate Puerto Rico emissions inspection/registration sticker Mesh front grille with supports (which ended up looking like the stock one) one heck of a toothpick Hope you like it. What do you think? Thanks, Ismael
  19. LIGHTS WILL TURN ON IN A FEW MINUTES! Get your refreshments and snacks at the cantina and gather around.
  20. Hello, Entering the home stretch! Still pending wheels, tires, brakes, mirrors, front grille, headlight covers(those will be a challenge), a few other details and a final checkup. This is probably the last update before completion. Thanks, Ismael
  21. What a beautiful concept and execution! I see it on the salt flats having fun at top speeds. Thanks, Ismael
  22. Wow Tim! That's a stunner! Looks as good today as it did almost 50 years ago! Can't say that about us ? Thanks, Ismael
  23. Turned out great! The classic color combo is a perfect match for this car. That kit is quite challenging. Thanks, Ismael
