Interesting. I have questions. Interior bucket, dash seats, etc. would be 3D printed? Interior glass as well, or source elsewhere? Use a Freightliner, or Transtar 4070A for the donor chassis?
Yes, if you see the post, the complete interior will be provided. Bucket, dash, steering wheel, seats, etc. No glass. The glass is flat and can be cut out of sheet clear available from Hobby Lobby or other hobby shops.
Donor is whatever you want to use. No matter what chassis you chose, modifications will be required. A COE would be a good start, but any can be made to work.
As I said, Charles is working on the final details of getting it to print. Once done I will build one to show what it will look like on a chassis and painted.
If this goes well, the GMC Cracker Box, Dodge L series and a Ford H conversion are all planned. In time, I may even try to do a few other trucks from the 50's-70's that were never kitted.

Yes, I was the one working on it. I even printed a few. The issue I had with them is that either my methods, my resin or my lack of skills with a printer ended with great printing hoods that warped like a Dorito chip.
I just can't get them to print and stay flat. This is something I would like to revisit with a different resin, or different drying/curing technique. I may even need to redraw it or print it with beam type supports that keep the shape until it is fully cured.
So, the answer is yes, I was working on it. No, it is not available yet due to issue with the printing side of things.
I do know a guy, that knows the printing side of things way better than I ever will. When (if) he ever catches up with his current work load, I may have him give it a shot.

Scott the WT9000 is potentially a future production item?
Sorry, I guess I should have made it more clear, I am working on it for 3D printing. I have finished the W1000, the sleeper version. I need to do a few final things to the day cab version, then the W9000 will be next.
Charles has it now and is working on getting it to print.

Love that movie. Really wish that back then AMT could’ve found a way to make the WT9000.
Be patient, it is in work

I have 4 Scout Kits. I'd easily be in for a couple new grilles. Number "C" is my favorite.
I did not want to have anyone send me a kit. It puts pressure on me to be sure to return it and with my schedule always being gone when the post office is open makes it hard. So, I just ordered a Scout kit. It arrived and I plan to work on both the grills and the hood. I agree, the kit parts belong in the garbage can.
I think the big challenge will be getting the hood to print and not warp. Luckily I do design work, not the printing. I know Charles is the expert in this area and will find a way to make it happen.
I have a Hickey hood for the Chevy/GMC trucks all ready to go. However every time I tried to print it, I ended up with a Hickey styled Potato Chip. I gave up.

I'd be up for doing those, but the 70's Dodge van is no longer available. I have 1 body that I had to trade for, just the body, not a full kit. I plan to use the new Dodge van kit to make it.
So, unless there was an interest in doing 80's Dodge van grills, I doubt I could sell more than 3 or 4.
The Chevy van is a current van kit that is a 70's van that would be from the correct era. "Vanning" kind of started to die in the 80's. You don't see as many 80's vans done up like you did the 70's vans.
The Ford is possible. It is a shorty van and would have been from the 70's, a custom grill would be possible.
I guess I would need feed back on what the demand would be.

I’d be willing to send you the Revell dash if it would help having it in-person.
It looks like the dash is close enough that if I add just a small amount around the edge, it can be trimmed to fit either truck.
The side step boxes are easy, getting the diamond plate pattern on a curve will be a real challenge. I will give it a try.

I would love to see some pictures of the original Bus mirrors. They seem like something that would be cool to add.

Yes that's it.
The dash is most needed as you can see it through the windows of the cab, the sleeper panel not so much but I included it anyway.
But as I said, both the AMT and the Revell Germany K100 Aerodyne kits needs this dash and I don't know if they are alike when it comes to size, I have not compared them.
The Revell Germany I can kind of understand as both the K100 flat top and Aerodyne are from the same tooling with different roof sections, but as easy as it is to include a different roof it's as easy to include a correct dash at the same time, but AMT I don't since their K100 Aerodyne kit developed in the late 70's are not based on any other kit as it was all new and they should have had the correct dash.
AMT did some work to more resemble the correct dash and you can see it on the gauge clusters wich are close but not correct as both sides should be the same width and be closer together, but they missed out on the center section with the switches.
One thing that surprise me is that no one on the aftermarket has done anything about this before, these kits has been out since the early 80's and have allways had wrong dash panels.If you or anyone else has the Revell dash that they can post pictures of, that would be great. That way I can see what the differences are between them and if it is feasible to do one dash, or if I would need to make 2.

With the issues with Olson Brothers, it would be nice to offer more grill designs for the Ertl/AMT Scout II kits. The bodies are pretty much identical from 1971 to 1980. IH did like to change the grills to reflect the various years.
Reworking several of the grills to reduce the crown would be nice. Grills A and E were offered in the regular Scout II's kits but the rest have been left out.
A = 1977-1979
B = 1980
C = 1973-1974
D = 1975
E = 1976
F = 1971-1972
The other option was the SSII grill which was an ABS plastic overlay for the E, F, and A grills.
The kit is current and I would be happy to supply one for scanning. Offering the corrected hood (reduced front crown) would be nice too.
I think this would be a great option. I will need to order a kit. It is one I do not currently have, but want anyway.

Not impossible, but would require me to have a scan of the body to make it fit. Probably the body also. The little trim bars would be easy to design, a slight challenge to print. Well, printing them is not so much the challenge as monkeying around with removing them from the support without breakage. I will have to think through the best way to do it.

Personally, I would love a crackerbox GMC that's nice and crisp. The AITM one just didn't quite do it for me.
That one is on the list. I wanted to start with the Ford W1000 that TX3D now has. He is working on getting it set for printing. Once he has that one ready to go and streamlined, I will do more.
The GMC Crackerbox, Dodge L series, Ford H conversion, and 1960s White are all on the list to do.
A truck cab and interior parts are a big print, Charles is making sure he can make it happen at a reasonable cost for both him and you.

How about a correct dash for the Revell K100 Aerodyne?
Got pictures of what it is supposed to look like and what is wrong with the kit one?

It is now in the hands of the mighty Charles at Texas 3D Customs.

Something about like this?

So, would just the center section be good? With a hole through it for brass, aluminum or styrene tube?
This would be easy.

Looks like I can build mine,now. Those who wanted my master cast can now (soon) purchase yours. Nice to see this void filled.
I love your scratch built one. I looked at it many times and used it for inspiration. While I am sure that we both spent many more hours than we would like to admit to in creating these trucks, I am much better working in a digital media. With styrene I can get one side to look good, but then getting the other side to match is a real challenge for me. However, in the software there is a mirror function, so I just have to get one side right and the other side is always a perfect match.
It is also nice to be able to print one, and if it is not right, just fix the issues and print another. Making copies is also faster.
I have a huge amount of respect for anyone that can scratch build something of the caliber that you have done. I fully understand the work and challenges that go into it. I have done scratch building, but most of the time it is parts, not a complete body.

I have gone back and fixed the panel lines. Those are something that is hard to know how they will look until you print it. On the computer they are well defined, but printed, they are not as deep and clear, so that is fixed. I also added a removable support to keep the opening at the bottom of the grill from spreading as it cures.
The GMC cab is there for scale.
Any interest in Semi Truck tool boxes and other parts?

Well, thank you for all the reference material. I can't begin to tell you how much it helped to make this. Take a look and see if it is close to what it needs to be. I have not forwarded it on and can still make updates to it.
