  1. Thanks for the tips Snake, much appreciated. I've had a look at GTS Pearl Blue (the Viper colour), looks a bit too dark to me. I agree that Nassau isn't an exact match and is a touch light, but to my eye it still looks like the closest thing without actually getting some LeMans blue. I think I'll test on some plastic spoons with some different colour primers and see what looks best. Sorry to hijack the thread by the way. Both of those Corvettes looks sensational, nothing like an early C3 (68-72) on Rally wheels.
  2. Thanks Randy. I've seen other people use the same colour and have it come out looking lighter,so I assumed you may have used a darker primer. White it is then! Cheers
  3. Sorry to drag up an old thread, but may I ask what colour primer you used under the blue? The final result looks close enough to make for a passable LeMans blue for a '69 Camaro. I live outside of the US and MCW don't post international, so this might be my best option to get a close match to LeMans blue. The Corvette looks stunning, by the way.
  4. Thanks for all the kind words guys. Regarding the wheel arch mouldings I am aware that all RS cars had these, however as I was replicating my dad’sreal life car I left them off for now. Can always add them later if he adds them to his car. As for the paint, it’s actually Hugger Orange, my crappy phone pics just make it look more red than it actually is.
  5. Hi all, new here. This is the first kit I've built since my childhood. My dad asked me to build a replica of his real car, so here it is. My first attempt at wet sanding and using compounds to achieve a shine on a model kit and also my first attempt at bare metal foiling. Feedback welcome. https://i.imgur.com/ESQByuW.jpg
