  1. Arnd, I apologize if you felt I was criticizing your original fifth lift that was not my intent. The new fifth wheel lift is right on the money very nice work.
  2. This is a beautiful Kenny whopper. NIce build. I never thought about using the airbags form the snap kit. I have 2 glue bomb rebuilds that could use the same treatment. Gary
  3. As so often happens I was searching the internet for something else when I found these diagrams of an Ottawa Yard Tractor in a maintenance manual. This is the YT 30 Off road model. Ottawa YT 30.pdf What peaked my interest is the fact that the rear axle bolts to the frame with no suspension and the cab sits level but the frame does not. Here is my start on the frame. In photo yt1 it is sitting on my multi-color line drawing. I got in a hurry and forgot to cut out the vent in the front cross member and the stop and backup light holes in the rear member. I can still fix it. It has a main frame with both inner and outer Frame stiffeners. Not perfect but it is a start. I am correcting my drawings now based on information I have since located. Always wanted one of these. I am thinking about building a Capacity model as well just to show how different they are. I hope you like it. Gary
  4. duplicate post sorry
  5. Force, Thank you for posting this. I will print it and put it in a safe place for future reference. This just goes to prove the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. Gary
  6. Folks, I have been collecting a lot of information on both Capacity and Ottawa yard tractors. Using some extrapolation, some SWAG and any photos I could find I have started drawing a set of line drawings for an Ottawa. I started scratch building the frame this past week end. I will post pics tomorrow. Just wanted to see if anyone would be interested an a build log for this type of project? Gary
  7. Arnd, Nice yard goat. The tractors I remember had Bartlett lifts on the back like this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bartlett-Bartlet-Lifting-Device-Hydraulic-Fifth-Wheel-/161082005015 Gary
  8. Gents, I have a new computer and an old brain and I thought I had this list. Does it exist or am I dreaming. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If the lsi does not exist I may have to pull out all my trucks and start one. Gary
  9. Gentlemen, Thank you all for the quick responses. I also found and Allison at P&P Resin Works. I looked around the Internet and I may just build my own. The transmission is bascially a series of cones and cylinders with some sump boxes added. Should not be that hard. Gary
  10. Folks Is the an Allison automatic on any existing model or is there one from an aftermarket supplier? Thanks in advance for any help. Gary
  11. You might also consider using one of the AMT tanker sides to build the bed. They are preformed. I have seen 2 trailers built this way one gent actually assembled the halves and the cut them end to end to separate the top and bottom.. and as the previous post pointed out you will have lost of usable suspension parts. Gary
  12. Folks, I have been out of the loop for about 10 years. Did some resin casting way back and have some items I want to reproduce.. 1.Can anyone tell me what resin products they are using now? I am familiar with Freeman, Smooth On and Alumalite and the Micro mark Casting resin. Does anyone else have a favorite resin. 2. What do the Aftermarket resin casters use? 3. do use use vacumn or pressure for your molding and casting processes? Thanks Gary
