  1. Does anyone know where I can purchase a 1964 Dodge hood. Have an old Johan kit that needs a hood. Plastic, resin or whatever..
  2. I find files for wheels but have no Idea how to scale them in my slicer for 1/25 scale... what do you guys do... I don't want to be just guessing.
  3. Do most of the guys purchase and download files for 3d printing? Also does anyone do the complete process themselves, taking a scan then place it in a slicer app and then print? I'm just trying to get an idea of what's involved....
  4. Ooops! I found them on Slixx.....! Retraction (smiling here)...I looked again and there's a decal sheet that has pretty much all the Landy decals for a few different cars on one sheet....thanks anyway....
  5. I'm looking for the decals for the 1964 Landy S/S Automotive Research car. I remember seeing them a while back on Slixx's but they're not there anymore. I also found one set today on ebay for a ridiculous price. Decals for the 65 Coronet a/fx'er are everywhere but I'm looking for the Silver s/s 1964 before he altered the wheelbase. Any help would be greatly appreciated....
  6. Thanks Jim I appreciate the feedback....I'm just trying to get a reading on what's available and what's working....
  7. I just upgraded from a Elegoo Mars 3 Pro to the larger Saturn 8k... I realized after a few days the limitations of having a smaller screen which limited me to printing only parts. the Saturb=n will be here this Weds..... My question now is.. Has anyone actually used their iPhone to scan bodies and parts and completed the process?? From what I understand I have to get a app in order to scan.. the one that comes up the most is Polycam...has anyone used it? thanks in advance guys... I appreciate it...
  8. I'm relatively new to this and I've received my Mars 3 Pro a few days ago and just printed out the test towers that come with the unit... My question is this: I downloaded a sti file of a Crager Mag wheel.. How do I down size it in the slicer program to make it print out 1/25 scale... I see where I can scale it larger or smaller.. should I measure a 1/25 scale wheel in mm and use that measurement then input it into Chitubox?? That seem like the logical thing to do.... Thanks in advance guys...
  9. I'd like to hear your thoughts about what size 3D resin printer I should purchase... I keep going back and forth in my mind.. I want to make the right decision before I commit... I really like the Elegoo Mars 3 Pro but keep thinking I won't be able to print bodies.... my first question is.. is it possible to print bodies in two parts? and does that even make sense?? Buying a printer with a larger bed is the simple answer but I'm not sure if I wanna spend the money... and would I be happy with the smaller print bed being able to print everything but bodies... also is it that important since I can always buy any of the great resin bodies that are on the market.... Kinda driving myself a little nutting trying to decide.... you alls thoughts??? and thanks in advance and sorry for being a pain in the *utt..
  10. I'll get back to you where I had the decals made.. He did a great job...

  12. Thank you guys for the comments... Yes I did use the AMT body and chopped it. As for the Allison I bought if i remember right I think I bought just the engine on ebay. .. It was all chrome and I had to de-chrome it except for the valve covers.... If I had to do it again I'm sure I could improve on the chop. I'm a year better than where I was when I built it, hopefully..... again thanks for the kind words....
  13. I did this about a year ago when I first started to get back into models... pretty much from scratch...
  14. Thanks everybody for your valuable feedback.... I think I've decided on the Elegoo Mars 3 Pro... I'm not looking to print bodies, at least not now... Again it was great hearing from everyone. It helped a lot...
  15. I'm really looking forward to NNL east this year.. I haven't been to one since I took my youngest son about 15 years ago... just so happens I got into models again because of and during the Covid thing and then it was canceled twice! But back to Donn, I hope he's doing good and well enough to attend. He's really a shinning light for the hobby... I really looked forward to Fridays and the "Fundamentals" video series. lotta' experience there....
  16. I'm not sure if this is the correct section to post this but I'm a fan of Donn Yost's videos and noticed he hasn't posted anything for a while. I know he's had a serious health problem.. but does anyone know anything... I even goggled it and couldn't find anything. If this post is in the wrong section i apologize.....thanks
  17. I'd love to know what 3D printers you all use/have and what ya think... Selling my son's Ender 5 because it's driving me crazy with the filament!!! !! I'm getting ready to buy a Elegoo or Anycubic. Thanks...
  18. Does anyone subscribe to Scale Speed Garage for resin files ??? scalespeedgarage.com Just wonderin'...
  19. I acquired an old monogram indy car kit from my brother-in-law. I just finished it but I can't find the windshield...! it's looking great except on windshield! It's the Mac Tools Lola with the Buick engine... does anyone know how to make one...? I have clear flexible plastic sheets and tried to heat it and form one but there's no way is this is gonna work... any ideas.. Are there any articles written on this subject? I think the kit is from 1989.... so there's no way I can go to ebay and look for one... any advice would be greatly appreciated....Thanks in advance....
  20. Thanks to everyone....! So many good ideas... I'm gonna try out a few but they're all good...... thanks again.. joec
  21. I have one of the double fan spray booths that I bought from Amazon. I do love it but it came with thin plastic liner and it's getting all funky after doing over 20 cars... I tried to clean it but it really doesn't come clean.. I cleaned the turn table with lacquer thinner and it come out like new.. I was wonder what you guys use for a liner... I was reading on the web that aluminum foil works. I was also thinking that maybe poster paper would work and just use the 3m double side tape to hold it up.. any suggestions.. Thank
  22. I was wondering if I’m the only one who has a problem with my workbench surface? There’s a whole bunch of little questions I’d like to asked. I use the mats that we all have. I even have a piece of duct tape that I put my CR glue on to, but it still gets funky. I love to hear what you all do.
  23. No you're not too late. I ended up not painting it pearl yellow. I had a can Testors White Lightning which is a pretty awesome pearl paint that just felt better for the little Atlantis Altered.... The contrast of the white pearl body against the black frame and tires just said all business for a competition altered. Thanks for writing... I really appreciate it. Oh and i did use white Tamiya primer....:-)
  24. I wanna thank you guys for your suggestions i ended up buying TS-97 Tamiya Pearl Yellow. Seems like Tamiya always come through. Thanks again!
