  1. That’s what I’m using buddy. I have a passche h single action. Mike
  2. Ok stupid question of the day. I got a small testors paint kit that has the amber and stop light red colors. It came with a small bottle of thinner. Can I use this thinner to mix with my paint when I get ready to airbrush my model? Mike
  3. Here’s my rookie mistakes on my Revell 359 peterbilt cab during priming. I didn’t practice first and got excited because I was ready to get into this kit. Any recommendations on how I can get my mistakes removed? I’m thinking about using this as my reference model on what not to do on future models and just going ahead and painting and put the kit together. Mike
  4. My 359 Pete just came out from the booth primed. Cab prime turned out horrible bubbles and runs so I guess I’ll sand and re-prime the cab tomorrow. Rookie mistake by not practicing before shooting the primer. But hey I had fun learning from my mistakes. I’m really blown away how smooth the primer came out on the parts pictured though. Mike
  5. What size tubing would you recommend? Thanks Mike
  6. Where can I find aftermarket engine kits for my semi models? Every cabover Pete I’m finding on line has Detroit Diesels I’m looking for old cat and cummins kits. Preferably 350-400 cummins and 1693 cat. Also where can I find stacks or what material can I use to fashion a set. Thanks. Mike
  7. Welcome Walt
  8. Holy mother of pearl what a setup. I’m impressed especially with the empty fire extinguisher you fashioned for a holding tank. Kudos to you my friend. Can you guide me On how to use the empty fire extinguisher and parts I’ll need to make one myself? This by far the best diy setup I’ve seen and believe me I’ve watched a ton of YouTube tutorials on this very setup. Mike
  9. Hi all. I just received a passche h single action airbrush kit from my lovely wife who encouraged me to get back into model building. What’s yalls opinion on this model for someone like me who is getting into airbrushing? Mike
  10. Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. I’m hoping my color combo of pearl white and sublime green comes out ok. Like Miatatom stated I think I’ll shoot the pearl first, mask and use your technique with the clear then shoot the sublime green. I do have another question. I accidentally got some amber paint on the chrome of my top cab lights. I forgot how inadequate the brush that comes with the testors kit is and I will be making a trip to my local hobby shop and pickup a better set of good detail brushes. How do I remove the unwanted paint off of the chrome? Thanks guys. Mike
  11. It was honor to serve y’all Pappy and keep y’all safe and our way of life safe. I hope that we can chat some as I’m back into model building again
  12. Hello all I’m Mike I’m originally from Oklahoma and now live in Antioch California. I am a combat veteran who suffers from PTSD and I figured if I got back into model building it would help me with my episodes and help me relax. My choice of models I’ll be building will be semi trucks as I’m a former OTR driver but I’ll build an occasional hot rod or 2. I hope to make a bunch of friends on here so to all you out there happy building and nice to make everyone’s acquaintance. Mike
  13. Hello all my name is mike and I’m restarting my old love of building models. I have PTSD and feel this will help take the edge off. My genre will be big rigs and I have recently purchased 4 kits off of amazon. Ok my question is 2 parts. Question 1: I’m wanting to do my own stripes as the decals in the kits Really don’t do “it” for me. Do I paint the whole cab first with the color of stripes I want? Or do I paint the color I’m choosing for the truck first then mask and paint my stripes? Question 2: as far as a base coat I’m thinking about what I have which is Aztec from testors pearl white and my final coat is from testors also is sublime green and a good clear coat Do you guys think I have a good combination for this? I am really stoked and fired up about being back in the hobby again. My tools I have right now is a Paasche H airbrush kit Tamiya paint stand and parts holder turntable 11 exacto knife Tamiya masking tape and dispenser and 2 mm Tamiya masking paint for curves and assorted other masking tapes sanding sticks etc. Thanks for all replies. Mike
  14. Man what a build. Sorry it took 4 years to respond but I’m back to model building after a very long hiatus. I wish you could do a YouTube tutorial on your technique to get that paint scheme as I’m doing a couple of my rigs in that scheme just don’t know where to start. Mike
