  1. Got this today with a bunch of other kits. Can't find one on eBay or anywhere else for that matter which I normally take to mean that something is rare. Can anyone tell me anything about it or what it would sell for. I need to recoup some of the money I spent.
  2. Great trade with RichCostello. Exactly what it was supposed to be, timely, no nonsense.
  3. Those are great cars, we have a few of them. I want that kit to build a copy of my son's turbo wagon but I haven't been able to bring myself to pay $120 for one yet.
  4. No, just thinner medium. I'm never using enough at once or having it sit in a tray or on a pallet long enough to need retarder. If you're painting miniatures or something and your have a whole bunch of it you're dipping out of for a while maybe you would need retarder I don't know. For the most part if I'm brushing I'm just doing small detail stuff and only using a few drops of it. That being said I airbrush a lot so if you're dipping into it and doing a lot of brushing like an interior or something you might need retarder.
  5. Do you mean for an airbrush or just to brush on? I thin Vallejo Model Color acrylic for the airbrush but I brush it on as is. I may thin it just a little bit depending on what I'm painting but generally I don't. Vallejo Model Air can go straight into an airbrush. If you're talking about brushing it on it's sort of like there is no set rule to it. If you're trying to use it and you feel like it's too thick then thin it down some until it's how you like it. A lot of it comes down to what you're painting on and what you're using as far as a brush or whatever and a lot of it just comes down to the personal preference. The Model Air paints are not real good for brushing. They're way too thin. The best thing to do is experiment on something that doesn't matter and figure out how you like it.
  6. Bench is pretty clean right now on account of me being on call for the past month and working quite a bit. It's not good for hobbies but it's good for the paycheck I suppose. Nothing really being worked on but one lonely Eddie Hill dragster. I'm sort of taking liberties and having fun with it and not really worrying about authenticity on this one. My intention is to build a spray booth tomorrow that's going to sit over on the left side and then vent out the window.
  7. Now that I've really looked at it it's not quite the mess I thought it was. The glass in the van is pretty bad but otherwise I think it'll clean up fairly easily. The Chevelle is great and most of the chrome parts haven't been glued so I kind of got lucky there. It's going to be a fun project.
  8. I picked up this kit in a lot with a bunch of other ones today. it appears to all be there but unfortunately somebody started it long ago and did not do a stellar job with the glue. I'm not sure what kind of glue it is but it's old and stringy. Does anyone have any advice as far as what I can do about getting this thing apart and getting the glue off of the surfaces and glass besides cutting, scraping and sanding? Thank you in advance!
  9. Hello. Just thought I'd say hi. My name is David, I'm 42. I'm an automatic door service tech. Just got back into the hobby in the past year or so. Been building mostly 1/24 race cars lately. I enjoy trading and collecting too. I signed up to ask a specific question but I'm looking forward to seeing what I can learn here to improve my building.
