Congrats Steve, unique level.

I was given a Porsche by my wife in the fall of 2007, without really realizing it I chose a manual.
In short, it saved my life.
It stopped 20 times on the first day and I couldn't deny how exhausted I was, changed my life and became a happier person who also has a Porsche.- 1

The ProTech aluminum nuts are not inexpensive either. But I get it, as they are small, and made of aluminum, and the tolerances are right on, so I expect to pay for quality. I was looking into RB Motion, but their website is kinda funky, I had read that they are WAY behind on orders. I might assemble my wheel lugs tonight. I have the studs (rod) tips painted, and the wheels drilled, thanks to some helpful info on here.
Nice, a fellow drills through a thin or actually two aluminum tubes to hit the center of the bolt, the coarser one fits right over the "bolt" and inside that he has a thinner one to be able to use a really thin drill. On old AMT rims there won't be much left to cut away after that.

It would be wonderful if it could be available in Europe too, at least for Christmas and in the typical holiday resorts...
There are so many ordinary people who are so keen to build plastic models again but the step to ordering online, combined with the great supply, is too big. -
Has anyone built or seen such a kit as an American Ford Falcon Futura ? I hitchhiked home from the muster once a long time ago in a metallic blue with inline six and four bolt wheels, it would be fun to build.

I cut, prep, build, wash, prime, paint and detail.
For me, the priority is: well built with prepped parts before separately painted parts. I learned to build like that when I built tanks.- 1

Strip off the chrome and especially the clear coat, remove with a toothbrush so that all the clear coat is gone, put a little Tamiya black wash so you see the details more clearly, magnifying glasses and yellow glasses are the next step but a black wash increases the contrast.

Wow...I missed that one.
Almost everyone has done so.
Immediately after filming, the car was sold and exported to Sweden where it still exists today, I think. I last saw it less than ten years ago.
With a bit of luck I will be able to post some pictures this fall so you can build an accurate replica. -

This is my absolute favorite kit, I'm considering ordering a box of 12 from the original batch.
It's really nice to see your well prepped parts. -
Nice green color, what do you use for primer and clear coat ?

I'll throw in a wild card, the bronze 57 Chevy. Now I can't find a picture online but I've never seen it specifically built in AG context.

It really is 2024, the golden age of modeling, that the parts of a kit are part of a larger context and can be exchanged between different kits. It is nice that Moebius has not abandoned the American way that can be derived from the promos, 1/25 / body / interiortub / engine / axles / wheels so that compatibility with Jo-Han, AMT and Revell remains.

Great, I like the opened doors.

Perfect, ready just for our (Sweden's) king's 78th birthday (he has his own small block).
I've been following your work and it's really nice to see it finished.- 1

Make sure you really get plastic that can be glued with the glue you want to use, I was stupid and bought some round no name styrene profiles instead of Plastruct or Evergreen, sure they were cheaper but my usual Revell glue does not bite and hardly even CA glue.

Thanks for the feedback, sorry I was a bit unclear, he probably wants to darken the brass. I think I have figured out why the parts have not darkened for him, he has turned pieces out of the good to have box and happened to take a more noble alloy.
The vapors from cooked eggs apparently darken the surface.
It is easy to take what is at hand when you have flow. -
A new and challenging level, this will be fun. This kit gives a new meaning to the phrase a golden age for model car kits.

Does anyone here at MCF have experience, knowledge or tips on how to patinate brass ?
The parts are polished and very nice but they don't fit with the rest of my friend's big scale all metal build.
